Summer is officially only a few days away here in the United States and one of America’s favorite forms of entertainment is in full production. Sellout movie releases have already been heating up the sacroiliacs of moviegoers nationwide, as they enjoy improved ergonomic seating and air-conditioned theaters across the country. Here in the moviemaking capital of the world, we like doing things that support our community. I’m a nut for movies, and even after more than a decade of providing chiropractic care to people at all levels of film production, I still get excited going to see a movie that I’ve worked on.
I love being a Chiropractor because I have the opportunity to change people’s lives by sharing the truth with them about Chiropractic. I love when the lightbulb goes off over their head. I love it even more when they demonstrate that they get it by bringing in their whole family and by staying under regular care year after year. I love sharing Chiropractic because I believe that every man, woman and child should know the truth and then be able to make a choice about how they want to take care of their own health. I can’t control or change their actiions but I can get better at communicating my truth and do get better every year.
Chronic suffering is enough to torment any individual, and Geri Carlson lived that misery. As Geri puts it, she was trapped in a cycle of suffering until a hand reached down and showed her the way out. The “cure to her medical ailment” was a chiropractic adjustment from a subluxation based chiropractor practicing in South Bend Indiana. She remembers the visit, it was Wednesday, February 4, 2004. Geri said the adjustment given that day changed and saved her life, leaving her amazed with the results of chiropractic care.
Chiropractic has a rich history in the state of California, with the founder of chiropractic teachings, DD Palmer, first bringing the philosophy, science and art to the state in the early 1900s. Last month Planet Chiropractic began sharing transcribed text from an audio presentation recorded in February of 1997. The event, which featured legendary chiropractor Ian Grassam was historical, with sellout crowds of attendees converging on a hotel in Orange County California for an annual conference hosted by the oldest chiropractic organization in existence. The Republican presidential candidate that so many people would love to see just go away, is back in the press. According to news reports the Ron Paul campaign has reserved a University Arena in Minnesota, and there are plans to hold a separate convention gathering during the national GOP convention in September. According to Paul campaign spokesperson Jessie Benton, the event is expected to be a celebration of Republican values and it’s also intended to send a message to the GOP that it’s time for Republicans to return to their roots of limited government and personal responsibility.

Drug company executives weren’t the only ones ecstatic to hear this news, giddy economists threw a week-long champagne party out on the sidewalks of Wall Street to celebrate the existence of a second industry besides Big Oil still making obscene profits, Big Pharma.
On May 5th chiropractors were invited to post a simple comment on a chiropractic blog post, and 70 have participated as of today’s date. The post was intended to help educate chiropractors as to the value of reputation management and online branding of their small businesses. While many companies could charge handsomely for such a service, Planet Chiropractic wanted to give back to the community and continue the promotion of local chiropractors throughout the world.
Palmer College of Chiropractic will host Homecoming 2008 on its Davenport, Iowa, campus August 7-9, 2008. The program features a slate of new continuing education speakers as well as familiar faces leading sessions, along with Palmer’s traditional social and networking events.
Health minded individuals living in San Diego, California are requesting your help in turning out hundreds of fluoridation opponents at a San Diego City Council meeting which will be held on June 10th at 2pm. Even if you don’t live in the San Diego area, you may know someone who does who may wish to attend this meeting. This is too important for anyone who is against fluoridation to ignore.
It’s early news, but Palmer Rugby Alumni are hosting a 12 hours continuing education chiropractic event in Deerfield Beach, Florida late February and early March of 2009. Members of Palmer Rugby Alumni want to keep the fire burning. The event features Palmer graduate Dr. Fred Schofield and it’s held in conjunction with the 2009 Fort Lauderdale Ruggerfest.
There is a number of frustrations that can occur when traveling for conferences. Overbooked flights, hotels located too far from airports, no WiFi access along routes, traffic to and from the airport, are only some of the nuisances that often bother conference going travelers. This weekend I’ll be in Scottsdale, Arizona for a June Schofield event and I was reminded of the many things I like about traveling to the Phoenix area for conferences.
The city of Murrieta California has a new chiropractor. Dr. James Von Hipple recently moved back to the state after practicing for several years in the area of northern Washington. Dr. Von Hipple and his family chose the 92562 area for a place to raise their two children and build a chiropractic practice.
Earlier today chiropractor Michael Dorausch posted a chiropractic blog piece regarding simple and effective ad placement for those using the classified ad system on Planet Chiropractic. The post highlighted something a chiropractor was doing right when placing an employment wanted ad for their office. Dr. Dorausch spoke about information he called “granular” and stressed the importance of using local (and even hyper local) information in ad postings. After viewing the post, I noticed some hidden benefits of participation.
An e-mail from one of my favorite chiropractors practicing in Pennsylvania provided a reminder that chiropractors can’t focus enough on building relationships with one another and developing interprofessional fellowship activities and events. Nintendo released their Wii Fit in the U. In 1997 I had the good fortune to be the student president for the International Chiropractors Association representing the chiropractic campus at CCCLA in Los Angeles, California. One of the highlights of my involvement in student politics was the times I enjoyed talking with legendary chiropractors like Sid Williams, Bobby Braile, Fred Barge, and James Sigafoose. Philosophical chiropractic was red-hot in the Southern California area in 1997 and 1998 (and it is again today thanks to DCS), with events drawing large crowds of chiropractors focused on a mission of serving the planet.
After more than two years in development, Google finally announced their health information service yesterday, dubbed Google Health. The service is intended to put consumers in charge of their health information, by offering a safe, secure, and free place to store and organize health-related data. The service is currently in beta status, but it’s now available for public use.
Over the weekend I downloaded the latest release candidate available for the Firefox browser by Mozilla. According to reports, this release candidate (RC1 of version 3) features some improvements in security and performance. Even though the browser is available for public use, the RC one release candidate is intended for those wishing to test the browser, and not general users.
As of today, wanna-be president Hillary Clinton is pressing forward with her campaign, while her Democratic rival, Senator Barack Obama, campaigns in Oregon and Kentucky in preparation for this Tuesday’s upcoming primaries. When it comes to influence and lobbying, the Democratic candidates have received the lion’s share of chiropractic contributions, according to election cycle data. 2008 will mark the first time since 1994 that chiropractors gave more contributions to Democratic candidates than they did Republicans.

The Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research (PCCR) was notified today that it has received an award to establish a four-year, multidisciplinary Developmental Center for Clinical and Translational Science in Chiropractic from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
This is Lynn, Marc Hudson’s wife. Together Marc and I produce the ChiroEurope seminar series. Last weekend we finished the 6th annual Chiropractic Spring Extravaganza in Mallorca, Spain. And if you were there you know that once again it was a huge success. Speakers and participants all went home with a new and deeper commitment to chiropractic.
By this point in time I think it would be safe to assume that every chiropractic office in America has been contacted at least once by a company or individual offering to list their business online in some sort of directory, for a small monthly or yearly fee. This isn’t something unique to the chiropractic industry as dentists, plastic surgeons, orthopedic doctors, acupuncturists, and multiple other small-business industries, have likely been the target of those selling online directory listing services. I don’t follow the online activities of those other industries so I can’t offer comment, but I follow chiropractic related activity very closely.
