A storm has been brewing in the nonsurgical spinal decompression market. The planetchiropractic.com e-mail inbox has been receiving both targeted marketing from companies and individuals seeking to unload computerized spinal decompression units, and e-mails from chiropractors nationwide seeking out the best possible deals on used spinal decompression products like the DRX9000. It’s the perfect storm for those in the market for these types of lumbar disc decompression and cervical decompression products, since prices are expected to be below $30,000 by the first of January, 2009.

The newsfeeds are buzzing with stories related to a recent survey that suggests primary care physicians are an endangered species of medical doctor. The survey, involving some 12,000 medical physicians, showed a great number of MDs are unhappy with red tape and decreased payment for their services.

In an effort to properly position chiropractic care in the current and emerging healthcare market, the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) has requested the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters’ (CCGPP) assistance in creating appropriate definitions of care. The ACA is seeking appropriate definitions of acute chiropractic care, chronic/recurrent chiropractic care, health promotion and wellness chiropractic care, relative to the healthcare market at large. This project was announced earlier this month at the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas.

The chiropractic salaries and advice about chiropractic schools articles result in the largest number of e-mails I receive from individuals seeking careers in the field of chiropractic health-care. Sadly to say, there must be more than 100 unanswered e-mails from prospective chiropractic students, and it would be great if representatives from various US chiropractic schools would field some of these questions for us. Until that time comes, I’ll keep answering those that catch my attention.

There’s been a firestorm of discussion going on today related to a new video campaign by the makers of Motrin. Going to be one hell of a week for those in the reputation management department at Johnson & Johnson, the makers of Motrin. I’m not getting into the Motrin Mom campaign discussion here, visit the blog for my thoughts on the campaign and major headache side effects.

If you ever posted something for sale online, whether it be an auction site or classified ad site, chances are you’ve been contacted by a scammer. Scams come in all shapes and sizes, and while they begin to look obvious after you’ve seen a few, people continue to fall for the techniques. As a result, scammers push massive amounts of emails (often through automation) to those selling items online. On planetchiropractic.com I noticed 2 new fraud emails yesterday, resulting in a scam alert, and this advisory post.

Veterans Day is on Tuesday, November 11th, it is a US Federal Holiday. Federal employees will have the day off and many federal facilities (as well as US Banks) will be closed. Millions celebrated the election of Barack Hussein Obama this past week, as the 44th president of the United States. While there are always those that cheered for another side, there’s no denying an excitement has been in the air since Tuesday’s historic presidential election. The news has continued its frenzy of reporting since that day, with coverage of Obama’s press conference, and discussion of a potential White House dog. From Obamanomics to Super Obama World, new presidentially related search engine terms have been popping up all over, and there is no sign that this trend will be slowing.

Why is Veterans Day important? It is the annual American holiday honoring military veterans that have served our country. When it comes to honoring those veterans, a parade is hard to beat. If you live in the United States, there is likely a Veterans’ Day Parade taking place somewhere in your community in the upcoming days to this year’s Veterans’ Day, which is officially on November 11, 2008. Below is a listing of several local parades taking place throughout the US, in honor of America’s veterans. Click on the links for Google maps marking local Veterans’ Day parade events.

Some people may find it hard to believe, but chiropractors can party as hard as any other group on the planet. By party, we don’t mean get chemically induced and crunk, we mean letting loose and having a good time. Rather than getting over medicated to the point of numbness and dysfunction, the chiropractic community feeds and fuels on the energy that drives this universe. Okay, so there’s some alcohol and caffeine involved at times, but for the most part, when chiropractors talk about being Fired up, it’s an expression coming from the inside, that’s being projected outwards. With that said, one of Chiropractix biggest concert events is scheduled for March of 2009, it’s going to be a wild and off the hook ginormous party.

To the streets of New York City were a sea of colors this past Sunday, as some 40,000 runners crossed the Verrazano Bridge in Staten Island, ran 26.2 miles through five NYC boroughs, and finished up their journey in Central Park. Among that sea of people moving through the streets, was a chiropractor promoting Oaklahaven chiropractic for kids.

Barack Hussein Obama was elected the 44th president of the United States on Tuesday, with Americans embracing his call for change in the direction and tone of the country. Healthcare has been a huge issue in this year’s election, and Obama many times made the US health-care system a centerpiece of his presidential campaign.

Below is a nationwide list of voting polls hours. You may have found yourself asking what time do polls open in my area? Depending on where you live in the United States, polling places in your area could be opening as early as 6 a.m. or as late as 12 noon. Just as important as knowing when your local polling location has opened, we want to pay attention to when polls close. So, if you have not yet voted in this year’s election and still plan to do so, ask yourself… what time do polls close?

You may be asking yourself “Where do I vote?” That’s the question being asked by lots of Americans today, and likely many more tomorrow. Thanks to online tools and maps, discovering your polling place and finding out where to vote is a fairly simple task. Whether you are in San Diego, Arizona, or New York City, it shouldn’t be a tough task. I won’t say who you should vote for or who I think is going win the election, let’s just focus on getting you to the polls so you can make your vote count.

Chiropractor related search traffic has increased for terms related to jobs, salaries, employment, earnings, and offices for sale. The results are showing evidence that what’s going on in the global economy, is having an effect on niche industries such as the chiropractic profession. Not only are business sale listings on the rise, those seeking jobs in this hands-on industry, are beginning to look outside their local area for chiropractor work opportunities.

Keyword research appears so 20/20 in hindsight that it can leave any news webmaster wondering why they didn’t use particular terms and phrases when creating their content in the first place. Politically related search traffic will undoubtedly reach an all-time high during the next 96 hours, and aside from the obvious searches for Obama polls and McCain polls, the potential combination of key phrases leading up to Tuesday’s election, is simply mind boggling.

When does daylight savings time end? The answer depends on where you live. For most people in the United States, it’s time to change your clocks and fall back on November 2nd, as the official US time changes tonight, at 2 a.m. local time.

On Sunday morning, November 2, an estimated 39,000 runners of every pace, ability and marathon experience level, will run 26.2 miles through the streets of 5 New York City boroughs. In addition, more than 2 million spectators are expected to turn out to cheer on family, friends, and fellow runners. The 2008 New York City Marathon, presented by ING, will start in Staten Island at the base of the Verrazano Bridge, and finish in Central Park.

It’s Halloween 2008, time for scary movies, unhealthy candy, and even some last-minute Halloween costume ideas, for those of you that have waited up until this point to decide on your costume. After all the Halloween parades, parties and other festivities settle down, don’t forget there’s still a President to elect this coming Tuesday. Not only that, depending on where you live, it’s time to turn the clock back on November 2 (Sunday), for daylight savings time. We’re wrapping up the month here at planetchiropractic.com with a review of ChiroNews posted during the last 30 days. Wishing a thankful November to you all!

Tomorrow is Halloween and hopefully your chiropractor won’t be wearing any of these five dangerous choices of Halloween costumes. And by the way doctors, being lazy and pulling out your old clinic stethoscope and dressing like a nutty surgeon or MD, is probably a bad choice as well. For those that practice on Friday, hope you’re planning to have some good fun on the 31st.

Checking my Google feed reader over the weekend I was stunned to see more than 30 chiropractic businesses had been listed for sale in classified ads posted on planetchiropractic.com. I know I’ve never seen 30+ practice listings posted in such a short time before. Checking today I noticed the current number of businesses listed for sale in the United States tops 780. That’s a whole bunch of chiropractic offices.
