The shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere is upon us as December 21, 2008 marks the winter solstice for those living north of the equator. For many cultures the winter solstice marks the recognition of rebirth. It is a time for festivals, gatherings, and various winter solstice traditions and celebrations across the globe.

From what I’m seeing in search results regarding weather conditions in my hometown of Long Island, New Jersey, and all over the northern East Coast, it looks like road conditions are quite hazardous, and schools have been closing all over. If you hadn’t already seen it, there was even enough snow in Las Vegas this week to shut down the airport, and locally here in Los Angeles County there were snow in Malibu and plenty of snow falling in Lancaster. Many schools across the US are out today and will be closed for the remainder of the holidays, reopening in January 2009. With school closures comes family travel, and we at planetchiropractic.com are wishing everybody safe and healthy travels this holiday season.

We are only days away from winter solstice and both the Hanukkah and Christmas holidays are growing ever nearer. The latest ads are online and have been newly placed since Sunday, no signs of chiropractors slowing down yet. However, this may be the last chiropractic classifieds summary for 2008, depending on how many advertisements get generated during the week of upcoming holidays. All the best to everyone!

While many folks are focused on getting their holiday shopping and shipping done before the end of this week, there are those that have had the additional task of getting packages shipped to Las Vegas, in preparation of conferences and trade shows taking place the first week of January. Las Vegas is the place to be for conferences in January, with megatrade shows like the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Adult Movie Awards & Expo (AVN), the Affiliate Summit Conference West (ASC), Wordcamp Las Vegas, and even Parker Chiropractic Seminars.

Monday morning is the 15th, which means we’re only 10 days away from Christmas 2008, and a week away from Hanukkah. Never know what’s going to happen with classified advertising, there may likely be less ads placed during the next two weeks. That certainly wasn’t the case for the past two weeks, with more than 800 chiropractic offices now for sale, and over 700 jobs available in the chiropractic field. Advertisements appearing below are simply a round up from recent posts made to the chiropractic classifieds pages.

Daschle has reportedly stated he is excited about the possibility of serving a role in health care leadership, assisting Obama’s efforts to change the nation’s health-care system. Chiropractors that remember Senate bill 614 and HR 3447 are likely excited as well.
