A spectacular piece by author Dina Sciortino on Chiropractic Humanitarian Anita Morgenstern.
Chiropractic schools across the nation are graduating students this time of year. There are Homecomings and Lyceum’s in Iowa, South Carolina, California, and other US states that are home to chiropractic colleges. Educational institutions that teach chiropractic typically hold graduation ceremonies two and three times throughout the year and summer appears to be the popular time for most chiropractic graduations. While graduation from chiropractic school is a big event for most any doctor of chiropractic, today’s date marks 10 years since the graduation of my August 1998 class.
California is a place where chiropractic care appears to be growing increasingly popular and there are doctors of chiropractic practicing in many different parts of the state. Some practice in or nearby coastal communities such as San Francisco, Monterey, Oxnard, Huntington Beach, Oceanside, San Diego, and others, while others opt for the northern borders of Mexico, and even the southern borders of Oregon. Then there’s the inland chiropractic locations like Riverside, Victorville, Bakersfield, Modesto, and Fresno. One California chiropractor on the list is Dr. Steven Hansen of Elk Grove.
Dr. Ronen Mendi, a chiropractor in Israel, travels to the South District to provide care to children and their families in the city of Sderot. The city is located less than a mile from Gaza and has been an ongoing target of Qassam rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip. The article was converted from Hebrew to English and originally appeared in Israeli local news on August 4th.
While chiropractic was born and first made popular in Davenport Iowa, the birthplace of the world’s first chiropractor was Canada. Today there are about as many chiropractors practicing in Canada as there are in the state of California. The country features two educational facilities offering chiropractic degrees, with the majority of graduates practicing within Canada’s borders. Today’s interview is with one such chiropractor, It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Dr. Liza Egbogah of Toronto Ontario.
In early July we published news regarding an Internet scammer that e-mailed dozens of individuals with the same scammy e-mail script. Today, Dr. Michael Dorausch, posted some information to the blog regarding similar fraudulent scams. Yesterday, someone tried it again, and it was great to see the lightning fast responses sent in by chiropractors with classified ad posts.
Regardless of what kind of work you do, I hope that you’re fortunate enough to have others that share in similar ideas, desires and goals, and passion for life. I would imagine many industries have inner circles that add stacks of bonus points to already existing advantages of being in a particular profession, and in my experience, the inner circle chiropractic program offers some ginormous bonus points.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has new guidelines to tackle cardiovascular disease by screening children as young as 2 years old for cholesterol levels. If the numbers don’t add up, the new AAP plan advises doctors to first promote weight loss, increased physical activity and nutritional counseling, and second to prescribe cholesterol lowering drugs, or statins.
The ground will be shaking this weekend in Los Angeles, at least around the Staples Center in downtown LA. On the heels of a 5.4 magnitude earthquake which took place earlier this week in Chino Hills, is X Games 14. The X Games is a high adrenaline action-packed weekend filled with dirt, Moto X, BMX, Skate, Surf, and more. The Staples Center opens live to the public today at 4 p.m.
Hot and sticky is one way to describe what kind of weather chiropractors can expect when arriving at travel destinations this August. Amazing that Friday is the first of August and the last day of July is tomorrow. It’s gone so fast. Well, chiropractors love to travel and there’s a smattering of events taking place throughout the hot summer month, giving them reason to grab their swimming attire for some pool time between education sessions.
The capital of the state of California, is the home and practice location of Sacramento born and raised chiropractor Jeri Anderson. An individual dedicated to serving her community, Dr. Jeri Anderson provides chiropractic care to residents and visitors to California’s fourth largest metropolitan area. What is the price of greatness in your world? Or, worse than that, are you willing to live without greatness? Will you acquess to mediocrity? No one will know whether you have been here or not. The worse thing in the world – to accept defeat and be consumed by the wave of negativity that rules this world. You don’t need to live in the dark side. What is the price of greatness in your world? – Ian Grassam, DC
Chiropractors have been practicing in the state of California since the early 1900s. While big cities like San Diego, Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco, are home to a great number of chiropractors, one can find chiropractors practicing in nearly every city and county located within the state, including Stanislaus County. Modesto, California is located in the County of Stanislaus, and it’s the practice location for Dr. Nick J. Baker, a second-generation chiropractor.
There’s something about those New York chiropractors. Like others living in New York, we tend to paint them as abrasive and hard-edged, with a penchant for taking care of business in a swift and timely matter. A chiropractic adjustment delivered in a New York minute may differ greatly from a West Coast chiropractors hour and 45 minute wellness session, which may or may not include valet parking of ones Range Rover and a preparation of H2O infused with imported minerals, intended to improve cellular function (and introduce patients to the mlm downline).
One of the easiest and most important forms of exercise is walking. And like any other type of exercise, performance tends to improve when that performance can be measured. A number of chiropractors recommend activities such as walking after one receives an adjustment. Chiropractors like Dr. Steve Visentin of Colorado, have taken things a step further by recommending (and even giving away) digital pedometers, so people can measure their distances walked, and take a more active role in personal health improvement.
California is a popular state for practicing chiropractic (it’s the only state featuring four chiropractic schools) and you’re likely to find at least one chiropractor practicing in every coastal community found throughout the state. The city of San Clemente exists roughly halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles, and it’s the surfing and adjusting location of choice for Dr. Tim Swift of Swift Health Chiropractic.
And as chiropractors, knowing this principle, we have the amalgam that will bring all of the wellness world together. All of the exercise people, all of the nutrition people, all of the psychological people, all of the spiritually based people – when you apply the sciences of the world to a very simple principle that the body is a self-healing self-regulating organism, and that whatever your science is, when applied, should nurture that principle – we have a singleness of purpose. – Ian Grassam, Chiropractor
Not many chiropractic conferences or seminars seem to take place during the month of July, as it is primarily a time for family and summer fun. The months of August and September feature several big seminars and conferences taking place throughout the United States. Locations like Dallas, New Jersey, Arizona, and California will all be host to events focused on chiropractic fellowship and education.
While you can find chiropractors in nearly every city and town throughout the USA, the popularity of natural chiropractic care isn’t limited to the continental US. I recently had the opportunity to interview a Canadian Chiropractor, and get her views on practicing in Canada, her thoughts on chiropractic, as well as other info about her community. It’s a pleasure to be sharing with you this interview featuring Dr. Danella Whittaker, an extraordinary DC practicing in the beautiful area of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
They’re not going to measure you based on what they think of you, they’re going to measure you based on what you think of you. Do you understand that? This is not about you worrying about what they think about you. – Ian Grassam, Chiropractor
It’s ugly looking news for the makers of Gardasil, a vaccine that is intended to guard against four strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV). A blizzard of news reports are out today, regarding complaints involving the shot, which reportedly number over 8000, and include numerous reported cases of paralysis and at least 18 deaths. Meanwhile, the vaccine maker is standing by its product, and the Centers for Disease Control suggests there is no reason to believe the deaths are linked to Gardasil.
When it comes to patient care, there are chiropractors worldwide serving masses of people, in an effort to assist them in reaching the mountaintop of good health. One of those chiropractors is Dr. Nicholas Campos of Los Angeles, California. I had the pleasure of interviewing him recently for this Planet Chiropractic article, and I’m pleased to share his story.
Any fear you experience, any feeling you have that holds you back, is based on something that happened ten or fifteen years ago. Drop it. And drop it now. But be prepared for what happens when you become the big nut. You think the world’s going to treat you well? You think you’re going to look good running around looking like David Kennedy? Mad dentist?
Active community participation is key to building an empowered community. When it comes to the Planet Chiropractic Classified ad System, participation is not a requirement, but it is critical to community success. For many users of the ad system, participation is equals browsing advertisements, posting ads, contacting buyers and sellers, and basically using the service as it was intended. While that’s great (and we are thankful for the amount of user activity the site receives) I’ve been impressed by the stepped up participation, particularly among sellers of private equipment.
Do you accept failures as truth? Many of us do and it is unfortunate. When you accept a failure as truth you limit your potential and artificially lower the “norm.”
Do you understand the enlightenment and the healing that takes place in a human being when all of a sudden they find out they can do something about their health? The absolute slavery that has occurred in the hearts and minds of people in this country has been the fact that they have been blamed for being sick and given no way to do anything about it.
It’s been said that there are as many different ways to practice chiropractic as there are chiropractors. Each chiropractor brings to the profession a uniqueness and individual sense of self. They take the clay of chiropractic foundation, and mold it into shapes that form the representation of themselves as a doctor of chiropractic. While there’s no denying that chiropractors differ from one another, there are numerous things that they share in common. What do you say we get to know some of them better?
News of autism and questionable connections to mass child vaccination programs, continue to spark fiery discussions that separate those that feel there is distinct link between vaccination in the development of autism, and those who claim there is no signs to support such accusations. The topic of vaccination and autism is in the news again this weekend as federal health officials reportedly held a meeting today to discuss a case of a nine-year-old girl who became autistic after receiving numerous vaccinations.
The 2008 Chiropractors Restoring Energy Worldwide (CREW) mission to Panama has completed and was reported as another successful event. Chiropractors provided chiropractic care to an estimated 35,000 people, thanks to the assistance from numerous volunteers and the Panamanian government.
Why is it chiropractors continue to take care of such a small portion of the people in our great country? Are we telling the story? Are we telling it hard enuff? Why is it everyone goes to a dentist but not a Chiropractor? Humans are now easily the sickest animal on the planet and we are the sickest country in the world (we need some mission trips in our country).
Chiropractic health care is a beneficial and effective treatment option that provides thousands of Albertans with relief from pain and dysfunction said the Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors (ACAC) today in response to a call for limits to be placed on vertebral adjustment (also termed manipulation) of the neck.
Vitamin A deficiencies in Africa, technology bringing us closer to quantum computing, and reports that plastic bags can be decomposed in three months, all have the topic of scientific breakthroughs in common (according to search results). If the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) had its way, based on a report I blogged about nearly 9 years ago today, we may not be reading about these breakthroughs, as well as others.
Terms like social media and Web 2.0 are some of the most overused phrases being passed across the Internetz, as people try to grab a grip of understanding, and explain the phenomenon to others, regarding the millions of seemingly meaningless discussions and often times one-way conversations, taking place on the web today. Following up on yesterday’s blog post by Dr. Michael Dorausch regarding someone’s first chiropractic appt I scanned vast databases of human conversation, in search of some sort of relevance that could be applied to chiropractic.
