I found a web site today that has organized a list of online mapping locations for the fires in Southern California.

Massive crowds gathered today in San Francisco’s Union Square district in preperation for Sundays October 21st Nike Women’s Marathon. Thousands of women were getting registered, receiving foot massages, back rubs, pedicures, and getting treated to beverages such as Jamba Juice smoothies.

Not all chiropractic offices decorate or celebrate during the time of Halloween. Our chiropractic office in the beach cities of Los Angeles has been decorated with different themes year after year. We used to have candy guessing contests but this year we’ve moved away from the sugary sweets and are focusing more on a theme for the day.

There’s nothing like having a loyal dog in your family. Dogs such as Labrador retrievers seem to experience great joy in just bringing you stuff. They don’t bring you a dead bird for instance, leaving it on the front porch for your discovery, and expect anything in return.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has stepped forward on behalf of sound public policy and acted in the best interests of the chiropractic profession and the public by vetoing the dangerous and disruptive Senate Bill 801. This legislation would have dramatically revised the way in which the chiropractic profession is regulated in the nation’s largest state, and would have placed a measure on the June 2008 election ballot for consideration by statewide voters, with election costs funded by the state’s chiropractic licensing fees.

The idea of candy eating chiropractors is not one that would be very popular for a number of reasons. When it comes to eating and chiropractic, it’s more likely for you to hear your chiropractor speak of Sun Chlorella, Super Greens, Mangosteen Juice, or some other product loaded with phytonutrients, probiotics, and/or immune boosting nutrients.

Supporters of the Ron Paul Revolution were evangelizing out on the streets of Tempe this past weekend, while thousands were in town for the ASU vs. Washington Huskies game at Sun Devils Stadium. It started online and now it’s moving into the physical world, I’m beginning to see this guy’s name in more places and I’m recognizing someone is doing a hell of a job at getting the message out.

There is no denying that the Internet provides many new opportunities for small businesses to better reach their customer base. Significant growth is being seen online in areas such as pay per click advertising and search engine marketing, just to name two. While it’s easy to get excited about these new forms of spreading the word, it’s important for small-business owners not to forget a simple and valuable tool in garnering new client relationships, the internal industry referral.

Classified advertising is growing all over the Internet, thanks to features online marketplace web sites are offering, such as ease-of-use, RSS syndication, localization, and user generated management of content.

Sometimes it’s good to get outside the box of one’s own industry to discover what commonalities we may have with others. Developing a better understanding as to how others perceive your industry can go a long way in finding ways to provide better communications and services. A few weeks ago I came across a popular breast-feeding blog authored by a woman named Jennifer Laycock. While I was reading through some of the posts, I found myself thinking this was the type of blog I’d suggest visitors of Planet Chiropractic read. What I found most interesting though was that until I came across Jennifer’s blog, I had only known her as the Editor of a popular online guide to better understanding search engines.

I’d like to think we can help people find the information they’re looking for when visiting the planet chiropractic web site. I know people don’t always find what it is they first came here for, but hopefully they’ll discover something of interest while visiting. I was just scanning through some of the search requests people made in September, and thought I’d address a dozen or so of those topics.

My wife was bitten on the finger by a rattlesnake late this August. She was reaching for the perfect tomato nested in the weeds beneath a large tomato plant in the garden where we live in the foothills of Southern California. We named it the $64,000 tomato.

Everything from hotels, airlines, restaurants, nightclubs, churches, and chiropractic offices, are being searched for online. People aren’t necessarily wanting to learn about nightclubs for instance, they want to know if there is one near them, so they can go party like a rockstar. The same holds for popular brands such as Starbucks and Target, most searchers are interested in finding the locations of these businesses, rather than seeking information about the brand themselves.

My name is John Maltby. I’m a chiropractor. I’ve been in practice for 29 years in the hot community of Blythe, California. Presently I’m serving as President of the International Chiropractors Association. The ICA has an official affiliation with seven chiropractic colleges in the U.S., as well as a membership outside the United States representing almost 50 countries.

Part of a successful chiropractic practice is having a strong network of Chiropractors to be able to refer out to, when needed. Primarily I refer patients to my colleagues when they live to far away to keep on track with their prescribed care plan. The Chiropractor needs to be within close enough of a proximity in which the patient can maximize their care.

The influenza flu propaganda machine is rolling, with news reports that there will be plenty of injectables and nasal sprays available for mass vaccination. But as we’ve seen in the past, promotion of the flu vaccine does not come without reports from medical journals questioning the effectiveness of such a vaccination program.

Fluoride enthusiasts are having their way here in California, having succeeded in prying open the valve that controls additives to municipal water. Fluoride has the distinction of being the only chemical (so far) to be added to public water for the purpose of treating the person, rather than treating the water.

According to historical reports, September 18, 1895 is the day Daniel David Palmer gave the first chiropractic adjustment, which took place in Davenport Iowa. It was not long after that day that Palmer needed a name for his developing science. The Reverend Samuel Henry Weed, born in Indiana in 1843, is credited with creating the word chiropractic, around the time of January 1896.

I’m the most senior member of the chiropractic college community in the educational circle. I’ve been President of Life West for 25 years, was on the faculty, the founding faculty of Life University, then Life Chiropractic College in 1975, and on the faculty of the Palmer College of Chiropractic before that. In addition to serving as President of Life West, I presently serve as the First Vice President of the World Federation of Chiropractic and, barring any unforeseen foolishness on my part, will assume the presidency of that later in the month.

Nearly 1,700 Palmer College of Chiropractic alumni and guests came to Palmer’s Davenport Campus for Homecoming 2007 Aug. 9-11. This year’s theme, “Look Inside,” referred to some exciting additions to Palmer’s Davenport Campus, as well as the healing, compassion and knowledge that chiropractors can find within themselves and at Palmer.

It was an incredible event. A little after 6pm, the windows in the house began to rattle. I was adjusting a patient but we thought nothing of it. I live in Peru, this is common. I have felt dozens of tremors over the past years and some rather strong. However this was different. This was no tremor. After a few seconds it got a lot stronger. The adjusting room opens out to a garden in the back of the house. So I told the young man on the table that he was welcome to come outside with me. As I went into the garden and looked up at the house, I could see it swaying. All the other buildings in the neighborhood were doing the same. In fact, most of the buildings in the entire country were swaying.
