Some medical doctors in Taiwan are not happy with a proposed legislation that will allow foreign educated doctors of chiropractic to practice legally in Taiwan.

A panel of scientists and doctors this week recommended that the Food and Drug Administration approve over-the-counter sales of a weight-loss pill known as orlistat, marketed in prescription form as Xenical. Americans would love a non-prescription fat absorbing pill, and this one could be available over the counter in a matter of months.

PORT ORANGE — Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida, Port Orange, Fla., will graduate its first class at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.

According to various news articles, Merck, the world’s third-largest drugmaker, will be closing 5 plants in the wake of 6,400 lawsuits that have been filed related to problems with drugs they manufacture. Merck is the maker of Vioxx and Zocor.

The United States Department of Education (USDOE) has found the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) in violation of criteria necessary to maintain its status as a recognized accrediting agency. The violations were uncovered during a two year investigation initiated by separate complaints filed during 2003 by the Council of New Jersey Chiropractors (CNJC) and Doctors for Excellence in Chiropractic Education (DECE). In a July 5, 2005 letter, the USDOE found CCE in non-compliance of various accreditation criteria, some of which require immediate action.

A study recently published in the American Journal of Epidemiology found that using antibiotics more than 10 times during childhood or being a heavy user of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) increases the risk of developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL).

Thank God we only use 10% of our brains. I can’t imagine the chaos and suffering my life would contain with even more of it activated. And yet maybe I’m using the wrong 10%. Or maybe there are parts of the brain I’m not using that would otherwise balance the idiotic ping pong match that continually goes on up there. Maybe those other parts resonate with my heartstrings, so when 10 trillion things are tugging at my brain strings, the whole mess can come to harmony and I can remain a tuned note in the uni-verse. Yes, that would be good.

I’m for the George Carlin way of fighting off germs. Do you remember that skit? If not, you should check it out, he tells the TRUTH. George said you have to swim in raw sewage as a kid. Carlin grew up in New York and he swam in the Hudson river and was very healthy, germs did not stand a chance.

I stopped watching television about two years ago. The first six months were a struggle but now it’s no longer a concern of mine. Amazingly the universe has filled that void with lots of other activities (like writing). I do watch movies, plenty of them. I just don’t watch TV. Now, you may see me write about chiropractic on television (which I’ll be doing soon) but that does not mean I watch it. I like getting my information the internet way.

When was the last time someone came to your office complaining of a subluxation or requesting subluxation correction? I am expecting that in more offices across the planet this is occurring more frequently. I am also wondering which offices such people are entering and what is happening in offices that don’t correct subluxations.

Here it is early Monday Morning and I’m sitting at my computer thinking about the day in front of me. I’m thinking about my office and what I will probably be doing as the day unfolds. As I start my daily ritual I am thinking about what might happen that would make this day a very successful day. I think about the numbers, the stats…
