Gary V Keynote: The AI Era & The “1950s” Barbell Strategy
By Michael Dorausch, D.C.
It was so great to see Gary Vaynerchuk back on stage at this years 2026 Parker Seminars Las Vegas. I scanned through decades of Planet Chiropractic content and it looks like I first introduced him to the chiropractic community in 2008, when he was promoting Good People Day. Similar to B.J. Palmer and the KEEP SMILING signs & cards one would see at Palmer over the years, Gary is full of Spizzerinctum. He’s also relentlessly created content for as long as I’ve followed him. I loved that he had a morning keynote. I took massive notes, recorded a few clips, and took photos so I could share his valuable insights with you. Honestly though, you have to be there live to get the full jist, I hope he’s back next year.

Gary’s Keynote Summary: The AI Era & The “1950s” Barbell Strategy
Gary Vaynerchuk’s address to the chiropractic community centers on a period of massive transition. He tells us that the world is moving toward a “barbell” reality: on one end is extreme technology like AI and robots, and on the other is a return to 1950s-style personal relationships. For chiropractors, this means the “middle ground” is dying. To survive the next decade, practitioners must master AI-driven “interest media” to capture attention while doubling down on unscalable, human-to-human gestures that technology cannot replicate.
Main Points & Strategic Insights
- From Social Media to Interest Media: We no longer live in a world where followers guarantee views. Platforms like TikTok and Instagram now serve content based on current user interest rather than social connections. This allows new creators to “close the gap” and go viral even with zero followers if their content is high-quality.
- The Death of Traditional Search: Gary predicts that Google AdWords is becoming the “Yellow Pages of 2001” – a declining asset. As people shift to AI bots like ChatGPT and Gemini for answers, your brand and content must be indexed now to be the recommended choice in the future.
- The “Jabs vs. Right Hooks” Content Mix: Most professionals fail because their content is purely selfish (the “right hook” asking for money). Success requires “jabs” – free, valuable information that teaches people how to help themselves, creating the “karma” that eventually leads to a sale.
- Scale the Unscalable: In an AI-dominated world, brand is the only defense. Gary urges practitioners to reach out personally to every former client via call, text, or letter just to say hello, staying “top of mind” without looking for an immediate transaction.
- The Meritocracy of Content: You can no longer blame a lack of tenure for a lack of growth. A single, well-crafted post can generate more leads than 20 years of traditional marketing if the creative is relevant to the audience.
- Adoption of Substack: For those uncomfortable on camera, Gary highlights Substack as a massive opportunity for written “lead gen” and subscription revenue, noting that information is a commodity, but a personal connection to the writer is valuable.
6 Action Steps for 2026
- Audit Your Relationship Database: Reach out to 100+ former clients via phone, text, or handwritten letter to check in with zero transactional intent.
- Shift Your Ad Strategy: Stop running “cold” ads. Post content organically first; only spend ad dollars on posts that are already performing well compared to your average.
- Commit to Content Volume: Aim for at least one piece of content daily, distributed across seven platforms (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and Pinterest).
- Master AI Prompting: Use tools like ChatGPT or Gemini to act as a free consultant. Prompt them with specific details about your practice to generate content ideas, marketing plans, and operational efficiencies.
- Explore Written Platforms: If you are “awkward on video,” spend 5–10 hours researching Substack to build a newsletter-based brand that focuses on your expertise.
- Update Your Content “Form”: Download resources (like Gary’s “Attention” deck) to study thumbnails, the first three seconds of a video (the “hook”), and copy to ensure your “reps” are effective.
