DCS California Jam Neon Sign

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

Today’s photo of the week features a massive sign that appeared at the Orange County Performing Arts Center for the very first DCS California Jam. Years later, it seems every chiropractor on the planet is aware of Dr. Billy Demoss and the DCS movement, which came out of Orange County California. The sign turned out to be a good investment.

The very first California Jam took place in Orange County (Costa Mesa) on Saturday, April 26, 2008. I can remember being at a Schofield Chiropractic Training with Dr. Billy DeMoss and Mary Jane talking about ways to promote the very first DCS mega event. Billy was on fire (as he often is) and it’s beyond spectacular to see the wave of fresh chiropractic energy that has been flowing out of Southern California ever since.

The very first Cal Jam featured Dr. Rob Schiffman, Dr. James Chestnut, Dr. Brian Porteous, Dr. Monika Buerger, Dr. Eric Plasker, Dr. Patrick Gentempo, Dr. Don Harte, Dr. Dennis Nikitow, Dr. Ben Lerner, and Dr. Fred Schofield. There’s quite a few DCS related news articles on Planet Chiropractic. Something noticeable in 2013 is how so many other chiropractic conferences have copied what has worked at DCS. The music has gotten louder and there’s a lot more “letting the hair down” at chiropractic events.

The photograph of the sign doesn’t really do it justice. If you’ve been in attendance at DCS California Jam you know what I’m talking about. The sign is massive, and it’s just freaking cool. Thank goodness for people like the DeMoss family being in chiropractic.

Here’s a link to photos from the 2010 California Jam, marketing from the 2009 Unchained California Jam, and an old school slideshow from the 2008 DCS event.
