Recent US Chiropractic College News

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

Four US chiropractic colleges have sent me news updates for October and November. Sherman College of Chiropractic recently updated a transfer agreement to simplify student admission into the doctor of chiropractic program at Sherman College. Parker University recently appointed Dr. Tim Gross as its vice president of the college of chiropractic. Life University hosted the fifth annual Octagon Conference on the campus in Marietta, Georgia. And the Vice chancellor for research and health policy for Palmer College of Chiropractic has been appointed to the American Medical Association (AMA) convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI) Measure Advisory Committee (MAC).

Spartanburg Methodist and Sherman College Sign Transfer Agreement

Spartanburg Methodist College and Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina, recently updated a transfer agreement to simplify student admission into the doctor of chiropractic program at Sherman College. Under the agreement, students can to take their prerequisite 90 semester hours at Spartanburg Methodist, and then transfer into Sherman College’s doctor of chiropractic degree program after three years.

Sherman College continually works to establish articulation agreements and pre-chiropractic programs with undergraduate institutions across the nation to facilitate admission to its doctor of chiropractic program. For more information on such agreements, contact the Sherman College Admissions Office or call 800-849-8771, extension 222.

Parker University Appoints Vice President of College of Chiropractic

Parker University recently appointed Dr. Tim Gross as its vice president of the college of chiropractic. Dr. Gross will oversee the college of chiropractic, including the academic department, Parker University Chiropractic Wellness Clinics, research efforts, and the institution’s library.

“Dr. Gross has a strong background in chiropractic education,” said Dr. Gery Hochanadel, provost of Parker University. “We are pleased to welcome him as the leader of our doctor of chiropractic program.”

Dr. Gross brings more than 18 years of experience in chiropractic education with him as well as numerous years of experience in private practice. Prior to joining Parker, Dr. Gross served as vice president for administrative services at Life University. In this role, he served as the university’s chief administrative officer, providing leadership and oversight for administrative and educational support areas including accreditation, grounds, human resources, institutional effectiveness, planning and research, among others.

He successfully led the College of Chiropractic through the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) comprehensive reaffirmation process, resulting in no concerns and he coordinated the development and submission of several programmatic substantive changes through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Dr. Gross also held positions as assistant provost for institutional effectiveness, executive director of accreditation, policy, and quality assurance, dean of clinics, and director of clinics at Life University.

Formerly, Dr. Gross served as dean of clinics for Palmer College of Chiropractic where he also held positions as director of clinics, faculty clinician, and clinical teaching resident.

Involved in chiropractic and higher education associations and committees, Dr. Gross currently serves on the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) and has previously served for the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC), the Canadian Federation of Chiropractic Regulatory and Educational Accrediting Board, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Dr. Gross holds a doctor of chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, a Master’s in Health Services Administration from University of St. Francis, and a Bachelor’s from Murray State University. He is also pursuing a PhD at Capella University.

Life University’s 2013 Octagon Conference Yields New Goals for Chiropractic’s Future

Last month, Life University hosted the fifth annual Octagon Conference on the campus in Marietta, Georgia. The Octagon is a think tank dedicated to creating world changing dialogue on health care and the human endeavor. Attendees came from nine states and two countries and represented industries such as chiropractic, nursing, naturopathy, education, policy development and futures planning.

The 2013 Octagon Conference explored a report from the Institute for Alternative Futures (IAF) entitled “Chiropractic: 2025: Divergent Futures.” The report lists four likely scenarios for what the chiropractic profession will look like in the year 2025. The most optimistic scenario is focused on “Vitalism and Value.”

Vitalism is the recognition and respect that all living organisms are self developing, self maintaining and self healing. This innate intelligence needs no help, just no interference in order to strive for optimum function. This philosophy is at the heart of Chiropractic, and is the scenario which offers the most attractive pathway toward the proliferation of the profession.

It was the goal of the Conference to see if this scenario could be “reverse engineered” in order to achieve the outcome sooner than 2025, while also being realized in a more robust fashion. This yielded a series of short, intermediate and long term objectives for the assembled group to pursue.

“It was fascinating and remarkably informative to see how disciplines that share a common appreciation for vitalism have expressed those perspectives over time,” related Octagon Director, Gerard W. Clum, D.C. “Even more intriguing were the commonalities involved in operationalizing these perspectives across disciplines, this was very much about the “why” of the matter.”

Palmer research leaders receive appointments from AMA and ASA

Christine Goertz, D.C., Ph.D., vice chancellor for research and health policy for Palmer College of Chiropractic, has been appointed to the American Medical Association (AMA) convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI) Measure Advisory Committee (MAC). The MAC will advise the PCPI Executive Committee on matters related to performance measures and support activities related to the PCPI measure development methodologies.

Examples of activities that may be undertaken by this committee include advising on strategic priorities related to the PCPI’s performance measurement work; providing expertise in measurement models and methods; assisting in engaging the PCPI membership to enhance their role in clinical quality measurement; offering guidance related to implementation of PCPI measures in health information technology systems, including electronic health record (EHR) systems and registries; communicating the value of the PCPI’s performance measures and methodologies to PCPI members, physicians and health care professionals, and other health care stakeholders; and monitoring status and review results of measure development specification and testing projects.

In addition to her role as vice chancellor for research and health policy at Palmer, Dr. Goertz is a member of the Board of Governors and chair of the program development committee for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute–becoming the first and only Doctor of Chiropractic to hold leadership roles within this increasingly vital organization for patient-centered research and dissemination.

Planning Chiropractic Continuing Education for 2014

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

October is my birth month, and as every licensed chiropractor in the United States knows, the month of your birth is also the month you better have your chiropractic relicensing complete. I love attending continuing education conferences, so much so, that I’m already planning where I’ll be going to get my 24 hours of continuing education in 2014.

High Roller Las VegasThe photograph is of the currently under construction Las Vegas High Roller which is being built by Caesars Entertainment. Earlier this month I was at a four-day conference in Las Vegas and I’ve been noticing that it’s becoming more and more popular as a destination for chiropractic seminars. I’ve been going to Parker Seminars in the month of January for more than 10 years, but it’s great to see other chiropractic groups are beginning to add Las Vegas as a chiropractic continuing education destination.

Thanks to Planet Chiropractic, I go to more chiropractic events than I imagine most chiropractors go to. It’s not uncommon for me to attend a chiropractic seminar every month, sometimes two times per month, but I don’t always sit for continuing education hours. This year the state of California increased hours for chiropractors from 12 hours per year to 24 hours per year, which meant at least one extra weekend getting education. Don’t know about the rest of you, but it’s fine by me, I enjoy getting to see everyone and learning something new.

Parker Seminars will be holding their annual event January 9-11, 2014 at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas. Even if you’re not going for continuing education, this is one of those events that I recommend all chiropractors go to every year. There’s power in numbers.

I was delighted to see that my alumni (Cleveland Chiropractic College) will be hosting a continuing education alumni chiropractic event on February 28th through March 2, 2014 at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. The Flamingo Hotel is located center on the strip and its nearby the construction for the High Roller (don’t know if it will be complete by then). If you haven’t been to Las Vegas in a while there’s been some great expansion going on near the center of the strip. Imperial Palace has been rebranded as The Quad and there is an entire shopping area (to be known as The Linq) being constructed between Harrah’s Casino and The Quad. Good times for family while you’re getting your relicensing hours.

And that’s the reality. For me, getting to Las Vegas from Los Angeles is an easy trip, and I get no complaints from the family. We can drive the scenic route through the Mojave Desert or jump on a Southwest flight from LAX and be in Vegas about an hour later. So when I go to chiropractic events in Las Vegas I can bring the family know they’ll be having a good time with or without me.

Something else I like about conferences in Las Vegas is the opportunity to go out to dinner with colleagues. Las Vegas is one place where we haven’t had any problems getting tables for large groups, primarily since there’s so many restaurants to choose from. You can stay up all night talking chiropractic in a Las Vegas hotel bar and nobody will complain like hotel management often does when we attend conferences in other cities.

Schofield Chiropractic Training also has a Las Vegas seminar planned I believe for March 2014, I’ll post those dates when I get them. No continuing education for that event but I always recommend attending an event featuring Dr. Fred Schofield.

So if you see me in Las Vegas in 2014 I won’t be the guy walking down the strip with the 100 ounce Margarita, I’ll be getting my chiropractic continuing education and catching up with my colleagues. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll get a group together and do a trip on the High Roller when construction is complete. That would make a great photo op for my 2015 seminars in Las Vegas post.

Chiropractic Seminars for October includes New Beginnings

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

October 2013 is upon us and it’s time for chiropractors to come together for another spectacular chiropractic event before the holidays begin. I’ve attended New Beginnings in Long Branch New Jersey multiple times during the past decade and it’s well worth the trip, even from the West Coast. This year I’ll be in Las Vegas speaking at Pubcon (as I’ve been doing for about seven years now) during the new beginnings weekend, or I’d probably be there myself. The event features nearly all my favorite speakers in chiropractic.

New Beginnings Chiropractic New Jersey
New Beginnings Chiropractic New Jersey Mailer

As I said, New Beginnings features several of my favorites in chiropractic, including Drs. Jim Dubel, Fred Schofield, Jim Sigafoose, Jeanne Ohm, Sharon Gorman, and Liam Schubel (six highlights from the list). Here’s a partial list of speakers you’ll hear from during the four-day event: Mark Schneider, Tedd Koren, Carol Ann Malizia, Cathy Wendland-Colby, David Moore, Kevin Fogarty, Andy Roberts, Steph Maj, Jeff Aita, James Peck, Gary Stewart, Garrett Gunderson, Chuck Ribley, Tim O’Shea, Jeanne Ohm, Jeff Slocum, Rose Panico, Eric Plasker, Gilles Lamarche, Kevin Jackson, Eddie Diaz, Jack Bourla, Liam Schubel, Sharon Gorman, Sam Selimo, Tony DeMarco, Jay Handt, Bob Tarantino, Peter Kevorkian, John Hoffman, Jim Dubel, Sam Ayan, Bob Crystal, Ernie Landi, Fred Schofield, Jim Sigafoose, Dr. Gary DiBenedetto and others.

New Beginnings can be life-changing, especially if you’ve never been before, this is not your ordinary chiropractic seminar (I know I’ve said that many times before). You could take a single person from the list of speakers above, for example Rose Panico, and discuss chiropractic for days on end. The last time I saw Rose we talked for hours, and she taught me about the triune in a chiropractic office (chiropractor – chiropractic assistant – patient), it had a significant effect on my practice.

Go to the chiropractic seminars pages listing for the October 2013 New Beginnings New Jersey for details on registration. The event is at the Long Branch Hotel located at One Ocean Boulevard in Long Branch, NJ 07740. I’d suggest you fly in on Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning to Newark airport (EWR) and rent a car for the weekend (that’s what I usually do coming from California). Make sure you have some money for the toll roads. There’s plenty of parking at the hotel and there’s lots of places to go eat within walking distance.

Don’t forget your Halloween Costume (don’t make bad chiropractor Halloween costume choices) for the event on Saturday night. You can call New Beginnings direct at 732-741-6862 or go to the October 2013 New Beginnings New Jersey seminar page.

I will also be in San Diego this October for the CCA continuing education program taking place at the Paradise Point Resort and Spa in Mission Bay. I believe New Beginnings provides up to 14 hours of continuing education credit for chiropractors but make sure you check to see if hours are covered for your state (if you’re seeking to get continuing education). Personally, I’d recommend chiropractors be in the room at New Beginnings for as much as possible, regardless of hours provided. Have a spectacular October!

How to Publish a Chiropractic Associates Announcement

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

I received an e-mail this morning from a chiropractor that recently graduated chiropractic school and they wanted to know how to post an announcement that they were available for hire. While hundreds of chiropractors and chiropractic associates have posted “chiropractors available” and “chiropractors wanted” to the classifieds, it had not occurred to me that not everyone may know how to go about doing so. This post is intended to help new chiropractors (and those seeking employment) post announcements for chiropractic jobs wanted.

The e-mail I received could have been from any recently graduated chiropractic student, it read… “I am recently graduated from the Franco-European college of Chiropractic. I wanted to know how I could publish an announcement on PlanetC1 to offer my services.”

My first recommendation is to read a how to post I created in December 2008, it is titled Instructions to post an ad on planet chiropractic. While it’s an old post, it includes the basic information for getting started posting chiropractic classified advertisements, which includes posting announcements from recent school graduates. In the screenshot shown here I’ve highlighted the “post ad” tab and the Associates category, that’s the section that we are focusing on.

chiropractic jobs associates ad
chiropractic jobs associates ad
After you have read the post on how to create an account, have read through the “do’s and don’ts” of posting classifieds, and have created your account, you’re ready to begin posting your announcements. This next screenshot shows the Chiropractic Associates category in detail. There are currently six categories, with Associates Wanted in the United States being the most popular subcategory. If you’re seeking chiropractic employment in the United States, this may be a good category to set up an auto notify on (more on auto-notify below).

chiropractic associates available
chiropractic associates available
I’m not going to get into great detail as to what should be included in the perfect announcement post (perhaps we’ll cover that another time) but I’d like to offer a few suggestions you may not have considered.

Include a Photograph – Post a recent professional looking good quality photograph of yourself. I’ve noticed that classified ads that include photographs get viewed significantly more than those that don’t.

Include a Link – Link out to your website, your Facebook profile, your Linkedin profile, your Google+ profile, or whatever page (site) you prefer to use to display your professional chiropractic bio. Remember, you are posting an ad seeking professional employment, best to link to a page that shows you in a way you’d want other healthcare professionals viewing.

Include the Small Stuff – Use detail when posting your announcements. If you have them written down (you should), share your goals with what you’d like to accomplish being a chiropractor. Those seeking to hire associates will appreciate that you’ve taken the time to share information beyond the basics (like what school you attended and what year you graduated). If you are a former Pilates instructor, a former bodybuilding champion, or an avid mountain climber, I would mention that. Personality is important.

I would also recommend setting up an “auto notify” in your chiropractic classifieds ad account. Using auto notify, you can set up an alert where you will receive an e-mail for keywords of your choice.

For example, if a chiropractor posts an Associates Wanted ad for Los Angeles, and you have “Los Angeles” selected as a keyword, you will receive an e-mail moments after that advertisement has been approved and posted live. The downside is when selecting numerous keywords you may receive more e-mail than desired (you can always modify your settings) but the upside is you will receive e-mails for all advertisements you may be interested in.

Wishing everyone the best in success in chiropractic!

News from Dynamic Essentials

Throughout 2013, meeting attendance has been setting modern-day records as more and more DC’s discover their true purpose at Dynamic Essentials and tell others.

DE Dynamic Essentials
For almost 48 years, we have been continuing Dr. Sid Williams’ DE meetings not only striving to generate successful chiropractic practices, but to also increase the public awareness of our great profession. During this time, as an important part of Dr. Sid’s vision, DC’s as well as their office staff have been directed toward a clearer understanding of their true purpose as chiropractors.

Doctor, do you enjoy going to your office or clinic each day? Is your staff enthusiastic and excited about chiropractic and the patients you care for? Do your colleagues refer patients to you? Would you go to yourself as a chiropractor if you could? Did you know there are two sides to your practice–the business side and the heart side? Is your family proud that you are a chiropractor? Are your financial rewards for the service you render what you feel they should be? Is your head so strong that your heart doesn’t have a chance? Do your patients like you… not because you are “Dr. Goody Two Shoes” but because they feel good just being around you and they know they can count on you as their doctor because they have witnessed your capabilities as a chiropractor? As we move further into the 21st century, will you be classified as a first-string player in the profession of chiropractic, one who will make a difference in the world in which we live? We at DE would like to challenge you to join with us to make the world in which we live better because of us and our marvelous profession–chiropractic.

Remember our next DE August 1-4 at Atlanta’s Embassy Suites at Centennial Olympia Park Hotel is less than a month away. Phone Melba today at 770-438-9949 and register yourself as well as your staff as they too need to embrace your true purpose as a chiropractic professional.

Chiropractor Authors Greatest Inspirational Quotes Book

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

Chiropractor Joe Tichio recently authored a book titled Greatest Inspirational Quotes – 365 days to more happiness, success, and motivation. Dr. Joe sent a copy to Planet Chiropractic and I have to say I love the book. It is easy to read and it features quotes that can offer inspiration to nearly anyone.

Greatest Inspirational Quotes – 365 days to more happiness, success, and motivation by Dr. Joe Tichio. In the books introduction Dr. Joe mentions that “it has always amazed me how powerful words can be.” It is no coincidence that one of the most popular posts on Chiropractic Blogs is 101 Words That Feel Good. Dr. Joe tells us that in his chiropractic office he has often shared inspirational quotes with patients to lift their spirits and help them refocus on the positive.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness

Dr. Joe feels that inspirational quotes are so effective because they are isolated piece of information, not muddled or diluted by surrounding words or sentences. He says that there is no context to the quote, other than the context of your life. This allows them to speak directly to your situation and act as powerful catalysts with life-changing possibilities.

The book features a collection of quotes that Dr. Joe uses and loves, he mentions that the quotes have been influential in his life and he wants them to have a positive impact on your life as well. His recommended method of reading this book is to take a 365 day journey and read one quote at a time. His intention is that reading quotes one per day will allow them to take root deep in your spirit and express their hidden power.

I really like that there is a reader’s guide on how to get the most out of the book, since I have found that reading quotes can act as a tool for increasing positive vibration in your life. I will not share the first quote in the book, you’ll have to get a copy of your own and read it, it’s terrific.

Here are some selected quotes from Greatest Inspirational Quotes…

Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do. – Benjamin Spock

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. – Martin Luther King Jr.

Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened. – Dr. Seuss

When you don’t know what you believe, everything becomes an argument. Everything is debatable. But when you stand for something, decisions are obvious. – Jason Fried

Courage is never to let your actions be influenced by your fears. – Arthur Koestler

Dr. Joe tells us he has been collecting inspirational quotes for more than 15 years. He created a website greatest-inspirational-quotes.com to share amazing quotes and help inspire others to live happy, successful, and empowered lives. He is a chiropractor, rock climber, and speaker on topics including wellness, inspiration, and personal development.

I love that I now have a paperback copy of the book, I can read a positive inspirational quote first thing in the morning on my back patio each day, but I’m also happy to see there’s a Greatest Inspirational Quotes Kindle edition available on Amazon.com. Not an affiliate link.

You can order the book on Amazon.com, or visit Dr. Joseph’s inspirational quote website and order the book directly from there. Dr. Joe’s book reminds me of a long time ago post from Dr. James Sigafoose regarding your conscious mind and change. Dr. Sigafoose says that as we maintain our discipline of thot we will continue to prosper and all will take care of itself. I have found that reading positive quotes daily is a great way to start.

Dynamic Essentials can open the Golden Gate

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

The next Dynamic Essentials is taking place in Atlanta Georgia the first weekend of August, 2013. I attended my first Dynamic Essentials (DE) event when I was a chiropractic student in Los Angeles. Attending DE had a significant impact on my future in chiropractic. To this day, I keep a book “From the Ordinary to the Extraordinary and Chiropractic” by Dr. Sid Williams on my desk, and I reread it regularly. Dynamic Essentials is on my list of must attend chiropractic events for summer 2013. The following comes from the DE staff via e-mail. I’m sharing it to spread the word.

Polly Want a Cracker?

Dynamic Essentials can open the golden gate allowing you to bridge the departmentalized concepts in chiropractic. Those who have attended DE are not bogged down with big overheads. They are conducting their practice from their inner power, which allows them to care for hundreds of patients a week with four or five assistants and perhaps one associate. A DE meeting concentrates solely in bringing you in tune with the inner power within yourself.

Future Chiropractor Checking Spine
A young future chiropractor checks the spine of DE speaker Dr. Dean Sottille.
DE is not like other seminars where a diversified group of people each presents their own concepts. DE teaches you that YOU have YOUR OWN bag. DE strips the facade, peals the misconceptions of chiropractic that you may have, gets right down to the marrow of your bones, into your inner being (innate) so that the debris in your consciousness may be cleansed, allowing a full flow of love and well being to burst forth into a gusher of increasing life.

Those attending a DE meeting share a spirit of chiropractic camaraderie that can be experienced no other place on the face of the earth. DE principles imbue you with the power and positiveness to conduct a highly successful practice in office procedure, patient relations, and clinical techniques.

DE instills a commitment within you that you are a doctor of the highest esteem. By attending DE you will come into awareness of a positive attitude in relationship to chiropractic-that you are THE PRIMARY health provider, second to no one.

Renew your faith in yourself. Once you have attended a DE meeting, you will have a successful practice like the thousands of other people who have acquired the secrets of DE. DE is not a one-shot motivating course. It keeps you in tune with your inner self and then from this power within you become a motivator FOR OTHERS. Don’t allow yourself, like so many chiropractors have, who squander their energy by being negative. Taking a parrot-like attitude – “Polly wants a cracker, Polly wants a cracker” – you may end up with the cracker, but you’ll find it takes all your energy to clean up the crumbs.

In DE we don’t have Polly-want-a-cracker people. DE is a seven-course meal. We have our crackers within our soup. Our dessert is the realization that within us lays the power. Bring your CA’s, spouses and children to the next DE meeting. Let them share the feast with you. Phone Melba today (770)438-9949 to register or go online to www.lifede.com for the August 1-4 DE meeting. We look forward to seeing you there.

“Believe… intensely believe in your ultimate success” – Dr. Sid E. Williams

Don’t Miss These 2013 Summer Chiropractic Events

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

You know it’s summer when local parents all bring their kids in on the same morning for a chiropractic adjustment. While kids are out of school and excited to have some summer fun, chiropractors will be having summer fun of their own, and hopefully including their families on a few chiropractic centered vacations. I have put together a list of summer chiropractic seminars and events that should not be missed. Choose one, or several, and get reconnected with your colleagues.

You may have already noticed that several chiropractic speakers are speaking at multiple events, for many, spreading the word of chiropractic is a full-time job. Dr. Fred Schofield is speaking at the Life West Wave on Friday morning, and then getting on a plane to Phoenix for the mega hot 2013 August Schofield Chiropractic Training. This year’s August training takes place at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel (one of my favorites in Phoenix) and you can register by calling Schofield Chiropractic Training directly at 800-554-3260. The Arizona Biltmore Chiropractic Seminar is on August 2 and August 3 (Friday and Saturday). I will be speaking on Saturday and look forward to seeing you there. I’m also really excited to be hanging out with some of the greatest chiropractors on the planet.

But that’s not all, I mentioned there were 3 chiropractic seminars all taking place on the same weekend. All three are rich and chiropractic philosophy, and I really hope you’re attending one of them. In Atlanta Georgia it’s the 2013 August Dynamic Essentials taking place on August 1 through August 4 at the Atlanta Embassy Suites Hotel. It’s a Magnificent Bonfire of Love at Dynamic Essentials, and DE is the place to be. Get more information on the Dynamic Essentials Atlanta Georgia seminars page for August 2013.

It’s certainly possible for a chiropractor to travel to Missouri in June, Atlanta in July, and then onto San Francisco, Phoenix, or Atlanta again in August. But how about a mid August visit mile high in Colorado? The chiropractic lovefest continues with a mile high chiropractic philosophy weekend taking place in Denver Colorado the weekend of August 16 at August 17 (Friday and Saturday). This is why chiropractors love to take three-day weekends out of the office.

The Mile High Chiropractic Philosophy Weekend features chiropractic speakers such as Dr. Daniel Knowles (founder of the Mile High Movement), Dr. Steve Visentin, Dr. Donald Epstein, Bill Esteb, Dr. Janice Hughes, Dr. Lyle Koca, Dr. Dennis Nikitow, Dr. Liam Schubel and others. The event takes place at the Westin Westminster Hotel in Denver Colorado. Come get your chiropractic on with high-altitude and attitude. I’m fired up just writing about the event. Get more details on the Mile High Chiropractic Philosophy Weekend seminar page and click through to visit the website for online registration.

Great Opportunities for Chiropractors Wanting to Practice

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

There are many great opportunities for chiropractors seeking to practice chiropractic throughout the globe. One of the benefits I have at Planet Chiropractic is the opportunity to see what types of advertisements are being posted to our chiropractic classifieds multiple times per day. Yesterday it was my turn to approve current advertisements and I smiled when I saw 2 posted at nearly the exact same time. I took a screenshot.

Chiropractic classified advertisements numbered 42352 and 42353 had appeared on the screen. Both ads were for successful chiropractic practices and both classifieds were placed by chiropractors I know well. The first was posted by Dr. Dan Ribley, a passionate chiropractor that I first met back in the 1990s when we were both taking the national boards. Dr. Ribley is looking for an experienced excited chiropractor that is ready to adjust lots of people at a great office.

Here’s the body of the listing from his Woodstock Georgia office…

Ready to adjust lots of people at a great office. We are looking to help change peoples lives and would like you to be a part of that. Positive uplifting practice to work in get mentored from a doctor who has seen as many as 1000 a week who has started a new practice and is looking for the right doctor to work with him. Only mission minded people call who have big dreams, who wants to do what they went to school for… change peoples lives we need that now more then ever in todays world. Must be a great confident adjuster with a great work ethic and attitude.

I am on the mission as well, serving people chiropractic in Los Angeles, so his ad really resonated with me. A fortunate chiropractor is going to have their life changed while changing the lives of others and I look forward to hearing your story when we meet.

Posted at nearly the exact same time, was a position opportunity for an associate Doctor of Chiropractic to work with Dr. Brian Wikoff. I also met Dr. Brian way back when I was a chiropractic student in the 1990s, Planet Chiropractic was in its early beginnings at that time and we didn’t yet offer classified ads (that came in 1999). Dr. Brian has been passionate about chiropractic since the day I first met him and he runs a successful family chiropractic practice in Santa Ana California.

These are only two chiropractor selected from numerous ads that get posted daily, and while I may be biased, I feel there is tremendous opportunity for chiropractors to connect with others and move forward with great success.

In 1998 I posted the following on the Planet Chiropractic about page… Planet Chiropractic was launched with the intent of connecting more chiropractors with their colleagues and to increase awareness and involvement in the worldwide chiropractic community.

Here’s to getting connected and staying connected!
