Is Money Your Master?

We live in a materialistic society where many people serve money. They spend all their lives collecting and storing it, only to die and leave it behind. You never see a U-haul truck pulling a hearse do you? Their desire for money and what it can buy far outweighs their commitment to GOD and spiritual matters. What ever you store up, you will spend much of your time and energy thinking about. Please don't fall into the material trap, because "the love for money is the root of all evil."

Please don’t fall into the material trap, because “the love for money is the root of all evil.” Can you honestly say that God and not money, is your Master? One test is to ask which one occupies more of your thoughts, time and efforts.

Our first loyalty should be those things that do not fade, cannot be stolen or used up, and never wear out. We should not be fascinated with our possessions, unless they possess you. This means we have to do some cutting back if our possessions are becoming too important to us. Many of us worry on a consistent basis about things we have no control over. Worry may cause: (1) damage to your health (2) cause the object of your worry to consume your every thought (3) disrupt your productivity (4) negatively affect the way you treat others (5) reduce your ability to trust in God. How many ill effects of worry are you experiencing? Here is the difference between worry and concern — worry immobilizes, but concern moves you to take action.

What is really important to you? People, objects, goals and other desires all compete for priority. Any of these can quickly bump God out of first place if you do not actively choose to give him first place in EVERY area of your life. Planning for tomorrow is time well spent, worrying about tomorrow is time well wasted. Sometimes it is very difficult to tell the difference. Careful planning is thinking ahead about goals, steps, and schedules. When done well, planning can help to alleviate worry. Worriers by contrast are consumed by fear and find it almost impossible to trust God.

Consider the lilies of the fields – they grow were they are put. Many of us refuse to grow where we are put, consequently we take root nowhere. It is time that we make a stand for Chiropractic and tell the truth to our patients with out watering down the story. Stand for something or you will fall for anything. Start allowing God to be the master in your life and watch all the miracles begin to happen in your practice.
