Unhappy Chiropractors: Dr. Jim Sigafoose Audio
Talk by James Sigafoose, D.C.
In this 6½-minute recording from the Planet Chiropractic archive, chiropractic legend Dr. Jim Sigafoose talks about the years when he was an unhappy chiropractor. Running time: 6:38.
Dr. Sigafoose describes being ashamed to tell people what he did, not knowing his purpose, and seeing patients feel better only to end up in the hospital later. He tells how, at his wife's urging, he went back to another meeting and heard J. Clay Thompson talk about getting the bone off the nerve and letting the body heal itself. He also describes how a friend in Pennsylvania got him to read B.J. Palmer's green books.
"B.J. wasn't a quack. I was," he says. He ends with the big idea: locate subluxations, correct them, and teach people, and "it's your responsibility to serve."
