I’m breaking from our traditional news today to cover some topics that are relevant to the Thanksgiving holiday activities going on the next few days in the United States. My office is located very close to LAX airport in Southern California and we’ve experienced a significant increase in travel related traffic.

If you’re on the road this holiday weekend and you are looking to keep up on road conditions using your mobile phone, I recommend you download a mobile version of Google maps. If you’re online you can use tools that typically appear at the top of search results. For Yahoo pages searches such as traffic los angeles or traffic New York City should get you traffic status.

If you’re in New York (hi mom) you may want to have information about the New York City Macy’s Parade, also known as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This is the official parade link. The parade starts at 9 a.m. Eastern time in New York City. My dad used to take my sister and I to the parade when we lived in Queens. I remember it being very cold and I was needing lots of hot chocolate. Rain is in the forecast for Thursday in New York City so keep an eye on the local weather (weather New York City).

Speaking of weather I understand it’s snowing in the state of Iowa so if you are traveling there you may want to check local Iowa weather and be prepared for slippery Iowa road conditions.

Adam Sandler Thanksgiving song For those of you seeking funny Thanksgiving messages or even Thanksgiving jokes, don’t miss out on the Adam Sandler Thanksgiving song “love to eat turkey” which is available on ifilm.com. Sandler is hysterical, definitely one of my favorite comedians!

Many airports in the United States are expected to be crowded during the next three days so you may want to check out information regarding airport delays and related flight delays. The Federal Aviation Administration has a page with flight delay information from their air traffic control system command center. Go to the FAA page here. On Google, you can enter the name of an airport or a flight number to get relevant information or links at the top of the search results. As an example you could track the status of Southwest Airlines flight 1232 by typing in sw1232 at a Google search prompt.

Of course by Thursday night people are going to be searching for black friday coupons and the best black friday deals. The traditional way was to scan through newspaper inserts but I did some searching to find some great online resources. Here are three resources for Black Friday deals.

I suspect most chiropractic offices in the United States were as busy today as they were last year. If you’re planning on visiting your local chiropractor on Friday or Saturday it’s best advised that you call ahead as many offices in the United States will be closed for the holidays. We like shopping too!

Have a healthy and safe Thanksgiving everybody!
