Seminars Not Just for Chiropractors

Seminars for healthcare professionals typically focus on topics that are required for gaining continuing education credits in the state an individual is practicing in. For example, the state of California has a 12 hours per year requirement on continuing education for doctors of chiropractic that want to maintain active license status. While many of these 12 hour educational programs are typically taught over weekends in hotels, the chiropractic profession hosts a number of large events (some that also include education credits) that cater towards chiropractors and their families, other health-care professionals, and even the general public.

Thousands of people browse and search through listings for chiropractic seminars on the Planet Chiropractic website. While many listed events are geared towards relicensure for chiropractors, other health-care professionals and members of the public have made inquiries as to which events we’d be most likely to recommend for attendance. We’re entering the holiday season in 2007 and few have completed uploading their 2008 list of event dates and locations, but here are a few I’m aware of that cater to families and the general public.

New Beginnings for a New Future Weekend January 2008
New Beginnings is organized by a group of philosophically minded chiropractors based out of the New Jersey area. Events typically run from Thursday through Sunday and involve a number of chiropractic and non-chiropractor speakers. The core of the event is centered on the philosophy of chiropractic and living a chiropractic lifestyle. In years past, I’ve met dozens of people attending new beginnings that were not chiropractors, all who had reported the seminars were life-changing an exceptionally motivational. The events are held three times a year and they take place at the Sheraton Eatontown Hotel & Conference Center which is located in Eatontown New Jersey. If you’re flying in from out of state your best bet is getting a flight to Newark Airport and renting a car. That’s worked well for me in the past.

Speakers you can expect to see presenting at New Beginnings include chiropractors such as Jim Dubel, Jay Handt, Robert Tarantino, and Sharon Gorman.

2008 Las Vegas Parker Seminar
Parker Chiropractic Seminars hosts an event each year in Las Vegas. This is one of the longest running chiropractic seminar series still in existence. There are dozens of speakers from the field of chiropractic discussing topics related to technique, business, philosophy, motivation, nutrition, and developing relationships. Not only is the Las Vegas seminar a great event for chiropractors, it’s a spectacular conference to bring staff and family to. For individuals working in other health-care fields, or those seeking to build business relationships inside the industry of chiropractic, this would be an event to be on the top of your agenda. The 2008 event will be held at the Las Vegas Hilton. There are also Parker conferences in Montréal, Italy, and Arlington, Texas, but the Las Vegas event is the biggest of the year. It’s possibly the most attended chiropractic conference in existence.

Speakers at the Parker seminars include chiropractor such as James Sigafoose, John DeMartini, Fabrizio Mancini, Patrick Gentempo Jr., and Charles Ward.

Other seminars to consider for the 2008 season include Dynamic Essentials (which is typically hosted in Atlanta, Georgia) and the ICA Fitness Symposium, which is an event organized by the International Chiropractors Association, held in conjunction with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “Arnold Classic” in Columbus, Ohio. Dynamic Essentials is a great event for chiropractors to bring the family to and the ICA Fitness Symposium is a great event for athletic minded individuals.

Around 200 seminars and continuing education events get uploaded to the calendar during the month of January. Individuals responsible for posting seminar related information are advised to complete their listings as early as possible so that potential attendees can plan accordingly.

Enjoy the 2007 holiday season and begin marking your calendars for your favorite 2008 chiropractic events, conferences, and seminars.
