New Beginnings 2026 New Jersey: 35 Years of Chiropractic Philosophy, Passion, and Connection

By Michael Dorausch, DC
Planet Chiropractic | May 2026

I have already packed my bag in Los Angeles as I prepare travel to New Jersey this week for the New Beginnings Spring Weekend 2026 – the 35th Anniversary celebration of one of the most important chiropractic philosophy events in the profession.

If you’ve followed Planet Chiropractic over the years, you already know how much these weekends mean to me. I’ve been making the trip since the late 1990s. Back then, as a chiropractic student, I had the incredible honor of driving legendary speakers to and from the hotels – Drs. Guy Riekeman, Jim Sigafoose, Reggie and Irene Gold, and so many others. Those car rides, late-night conversations, and the energy in the rooms left memories I’ll carry for the rest of my life.

New Beginnings has always been about preserving, protecting, and perpetuating chiropractic without compromise. It’s where vitalistic philosophy comes alive, where the Green Book gets studied deeply, and where chiropractors from across the country (and beyond) gather to recharge their passion for the profession. This year’s event runs May 14–17, 2026 at the beautiful Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park, New Jersey. There will be sunrise sound healings on the beach, a special 35th Anniversary celebration, and a candlelight closing ceremony that always leaves everyone inspired.

I’m not speaking this time, just showing up as a grateful attendee, excited to reconnect with so many of my favorite chiropractors and leaders in the profession. The speaker lineup is stacked with principled I’ve respected for decades:

Jim Dubel, DC (founder of New Beginnings)

Selina Sigafoose-Jackson, DC (2024 Chiropractor of the Year)

Sharon Gorman, DC (longtime Planet Chiropractic contributor)

Billy DeMoss, DC

Fred Schofield, DC

Tony DeMarco, DC

George Curry, DC

Brian McAulay, DC, PhD (President of Life University)

Edwin Cordero, DC, FICA

Gilles LaMarche, DC

If this is your first time hearing about New Beginnings, or if you’re thinking about attending one of these weekends, I can’t recommend it highly enough. Every chiropractor should experience it at least once. The love, the energy, the TIC philosophy. There’s really nothing else like it in the profession.

I’ve written about these events many times here on Planet Chiropractic. Here are a few past posts if you want to feel the vibe:

I’ll be posting more updates, photos, and reflections right after the event (just like I always do). In the meantime, if you’re heading to Asbury Park this week – I’ll see you there!

Let’s keep the flame of chiropractic burning bright.
