DALLAS — Dr. Brian McAulay, president of Parker University, was recently elected as president of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC) by its board of directors. Dr. McAulay will serve a two-year term as president of ACC, succeeding Dr. Richard Brassard, president of Texas Chiropractic College.
“We have elected a new president of the ACC,” said Dr. Richard Brassard as he announced Dr. McAulay’s elevation to ACC President at the ACC-RAC meeting.
ACC Executive Director David O’Bryon added, “Dr. McAulay’s leadership in several projects showcased his consensus building abilities that will serve him well over the next two years as he leads the organization.”
ACC is comprised of accredited chiropractic education programs in North America and affiliate member institutions worldwide. The association seeks to advance chiropractic education, research, and service.
Previously, Dr. McAulay served as Vice President of ACC and was chair of the annual scientific and educational conference, Association of Chiropractic Colleges Research Agenda Conference (ACC-RAC). He also served as secretary/treasurer of ACC in previous years.
“ACC plays an important role in looking out for the best interest of chiropractic education as a whole,” said Dr. McAulay. “I’m honored to continue my involvement with the association, and I look forward to building on our strong fundamentals as we work together to advance the profession.”
With 30 years of experience in higher education and health care practice, Dr. McAulay has served in a variety of positions for several institutions, including faculty member, department chair, faculty senate president, dean, vice president of academic affairs, provost, executive vice president, interim president, and president. In addition, he was the first person in chiropractic education to be awarded a coveted American Council on Education (ACE) Fellowship and completed postgraduate work at the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.
In addition to his institutional leadership, he is a designated Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Site Team Committee Chair, regularly leading accreditation teams in evaluating other colleges and universities. Dr. McAulay also serves on the executive board of the American Council on Education Council of Fellows.
Dr. McAulay holds a PhD in management from Temple University, a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Pennsylvania College, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
