Northern Marin County for Conferences

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

Among my activities in the desert while attending a chiropractic conference this past weekend, were two different planning sessions for future chiropractic events and seminars taking place in Arizona, Northern California, and Southern California. Just last week I mentioned in the news how much I like the Phoenix hotel selection for conferences. A group of us just confirmed rooms at the Biltmore Hotel (which I understand is now sold out) for the August Schofield Training event and awards ceremony taking place the first week of August. Also spent some time shopping hotels for the search marketing intensive events scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, Oakland, and hopefully New York.

Upon arriving home today and checking through e-mails, I noticed I had one from the new conference manager for the Novato Oaks Inn, located in Northern Merrin County, California. Jessica Harrington e-mailed me with updates on the hotel and conference rooms. While I haven’t been there yet, it looks like a spectacular place.

Oaks Inn - Northern Marin CountyThe hotel is located north of San Rafael and south of Petaluma, along the 101 Highway.

The e-mail that Jessica sent me included information about the hotel being centrally located to wine country and San Francisco. Its nearby Napa and Sonoma wine country and the area features a number of great restaurants.

The hotel features 107 guest rooms and suites. The hotel offers a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast buffet which is served on the club level adjacent to the garden pool deck.

According to Jessica, the hotel is well-suited for business or social functions, which is why I’m taking the time to write about it. The resort I stayed in this past weekend in Carefree had some breathtaking views. Even though I was therefore business purposes, it was enjoyable to experience the sites, sounds and smells of the resort. I really appreciate when event planners take the time to both nice hotels for conferences, I feel it really makes a difference for attendees.

The Best Western Novato Oaks Inn may not be suitable for really large conferences, but I took a look at their meeting rooms page and it appears perfectly adequate for the typical sized chiropractic continuing education programs I’m familiar with.

Their largest meeting room (see the link above for details), the Oaks Room, has a seating capacity for 65 when in a classroom setting. I have found 65 to be a common room size used when attending or organizing licensing renewal seminars. They also have a room suited for a classroom size of 40, and one for a classroom size of 15 (could be used for our PC high-intensity invite only marketing sessions).

I know a number of practicing chiropractors in the Marin County area, including Joel Taatjes, a Petaluma chiropractor. Would be nice to head up to NorCal for some intimate chiropractic conferences (we are in Oakland in October).

Whether you’re planning a Northern California event for chiropractic continuing education or some other function, check out the features of the Novato Oaks Inn. Conference booking information is below…
