A Bomb is Dropped on Medicine

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

If you have not yet read the news, headlines all over the world are telling women to stop taking hormone replacement drugs due to the increased risks related to heart attacks, strokes, blood clots, and other conditions/side effects.

We have been collecting sources from all over the world and will publish links to all articles by later today or early tomorrow.

You are not going to believe what some news sources have been discovering. Many are saying that there has long been a lack of scientific evidence and that medical doctors have been prescribing these drugs based on their beliefs that they worked.

Yahoo! News has one of the best articles to date. (link below) About the study they say, “A study of the two-hormone combination was stopped three years early when it was found to increase the risk for breast cancer. In addition, women on the treatment suffered more heart attacks, more strokes and more life-threatening blood clots than those given a placebo.”

It is suggested that women should be looking to alternatives to hormones. (link below) The article also states, “women’s risk of heart attacks and blood clots increased as soon as they began taking hormones.”

One expert said that there is no safe period when taking these drugs. Another stated, “this is such compelling evidence that women and their physicians ought to be finding a way to get off estrogen.”

According to the news, “Until recently, medical authorities were telling doctors to encourage almost every woman who had not had a hysterectomy to start taking the drugs when she reached menopause and to take them for years, even for life.”

“… a defining moment in medical history”

Those were the words of one MD, this was a powerful scientific counterattack to years of strong promotion of hormone replacement therapy.

EAGER ADOPTION OF THE DRUG COMBINATION BY MEDICAL DOCTORS WHO WANTED TO BELIEVE IT WORKED.

“Feminine Forever”

Get the links below and read the story of Dr. Robert Wilson, author of the bestselling estrogen therapy book, “Feminine Forever.” According to news reports, he “flew around the country promoting it, telling women and doctors alike that estrogen, the feminine hormone, could keep women young, healthy and attractive.”

Here is the kicker! Yesterday, Dr. Wilsons son Ronald Wilson stated, “that Wyeth-Ayerst had paid all the expenses of writing “Feminine Forever” and financed his father’s organization, the Wilson Research Foundation, which had offices on Park Avenue in Manhattan.” He also told reporters, “the company had also paid his parents to lecture to women’s groups on the book.” The Yahoo! news reports say, “Wyeth said it could not confirm the account because it was so long ago.”
