University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic Clinics

by Frank Zolli, DC (Dean, University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic)

As part of the clinical training program at the University of  Bridgeport College of Chiropractic (UBCC) students are required to perform clinic services, as has been required by all accredited chiropractic institutions for decades.

Every chiropractor while going through our training has to go through the process of helping to securing patients to meet graduation requirements and be able to practice chiropractic. At UBCC we take that academic responsibility seriously and have a slightly different paradigm in our clinic focus. We look at that as an opportunity to make a difference on our campus, in our communities, and to our Veterans who have served our country with pride and deserve the best healthcare our country has to offer. As a result, UBCC has worked hard to create four successful clinic locations where chiropractic interns care for patients; the UB Clinics on our main campus, two off campus clinics, in partnership with Opitmus Healthcare who operate health care facilities in underserved communities, and the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Haven, CT.

In addition, our interns care for the Bridgeport Bluefish, a minor league baseball team that is part of the Atlantic Coast League, whose facilities are a short distance from campus, and athletes from the all sports in the University of Bridgeport’s very successful NCAA Division 2 athletic programs. With UBCC being the only chiropractic college worldwide to be part of comprehensive university, this offers opportunities never seen before in a chiropractic education.

This past year, like many in the past, UBCC is proud have cared for over 10,000 people in our chiropractic clinics. Caring for our communities has been the philosophy of UBCC from the very beginning. We are committed to making a huge difference through chiropractic care and we will continually seek creative avenues to make further inroads in delivering chiropractic to those in need.

With a policy of working hard to grow the UBCC clinics, our clinic directors, instructors and administration helps the chiropractic student learn what it takes, first hand, to be successful upon graduation and entering practice. We understand that what the student learns in their professional clinical experience will be taken with them into their private practice and will help them ensure a higher level of success. The University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic will continue to “push the envelope” in creative programs in order to serve more people and help ensure the success of our graduates.
