Apparently in the 1970s there was a swine flu media campaign intended to convince people of all ages to get flu shots. Two commercials, which are available for viewing online, demonstrate how flu shots were marketed to the general public in 1976. The announcer in the commercial warns that a swine flu epidemic may be coming, and it could make you very sick.
The end of the commercial reads… Get A Shot Of Protection. The Swine Flu Shot. At the end of the commercial the bottom of the screen reads Recommended By The US Public Health Service. For further information consult your doctor or local health official.
Swine flu articles on Planet Chiropractic since earlier this week include: Swine Flu Chiropractors Handout, Experimental Influenza Vaccine Hopes to End the Flu (from the 1940s), and 1918 Influenza Epidemic and Chiropractic Care (historical chiropractic flu related information).
