Plane Wreckage Found in Panama

By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

An article about the wreckage of the U.S. plane from World War II appeared in yesterday’s ABC news. Dr. Norris A. Erickson from Aurora, IL brought the article to my attention. According to the article, the remains of the U.S. Army plane that disappeared during World War II have been discovered in dense forests outside El Valle de Anton.

I found the article interesting since it was only a few years ago that myself and a group of chiropractors, including Dr. Erickson, were in the mountains of Anton overlooking El Valle (translated as “the valley”).

Back in the 1960s, Dr. Erickson was based in Rio Hato (which is just outside of El Valle de Anton) and he did a lot of flying over the same area. Norris has been back to Panama twice as a chiropractor to serve the people there.

El Valle and the mountains above Anton are incredibly unique. As far as I can recall, this is the only place in the world that you can find yellow frogs and square trees. Yes, the trees actually have square trunks. The woods are like a rich green wall that reaches to the edge of the road. About six feet into the woods you would no longer be seen, they are that thick.

Dr. Lisa and Michael Jackson stayed in El Valle for an entire week during one mission to Panama. They were responsible for taking care of all the people in that valley. I remember meeting up with them on our return back to Panama City, they had an incredible experience taking care of the folks there. They will be back in Panama in just a few weeks.

When we were not adjusting, a group of us chiropractors were taken up into the mountains of Anton to a place where the wreckage of another plane was found. There was a restaurant (it was more like a hut) nearby and they served fresh iguana. I decided to go for the chicken (which most of us did) although it tastes like iguana (so I’ve been told). I can remember the little monkeys that would come down from the trees to see what we were doing. That was very cool.

I am looking forward to our next mission to Panama which begins in three weeks. Panama is definitely an amazing place.
