Research Begins Patient Recruiting for a Study on Chiropractic and High Blood Pressure

Researchers at the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research (PCCR) clinic facility, 741 Brady St., Davenport, on the campus of Palmer College of Chiropractic, are looking for 165 people in the Quad Cities with hypertension, or high blood pressure, to participate in a clinical research study with the potential for significant impact on the treatment of hypertension. Patient recruitment began in late November. Participants must have high blood pressure and be between 21 and 75 years of age.

Chiropractic College Opens State of the Art Activity Center

A festive celebration marked the official grand opening of the Standard Process Student Activity Center located on Parker College of Chiropractic’s campus. Standard Process Inc.®, a nutritional food supplement manufacturer, bestowed a generous one million dollar donation to Parker College to help advance the college’s academic potential and to further the education of future doctors of chiropractic. Part of the donation was used to support renovations and the naming of a new state-of-the-art student activity center which is stocked with the latest workout and weight training equipment that will be used by students, faculty, and staff.

Chiropratic Team Successfully Finishes Chicago Marathon

Chiropractic history was made on Sunday, October 11th on the streets of Chicago when all runners on Team NPCO for Chiropractic successfully crossed the finish line at the 2009 Bank of America Chicago Marathon in front of over one million cheering spectators. Waking up early and bearing the chilly 33 degree weather, runners from various parts of the country ran 26.2 miles on behalf of Non-Profit Chiropractic Organization (NPCO).

Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research Receives Federal Stimulus Funds

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), has awarded a supplemental grant to the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research (PCCR) for its clinical study on the relationship between back pain and possible abnormal function of the supportive muscles in the back. The PCCR is located on the campus of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

California Chiropractic Association (CCA) member and non member chiropractors gathered on Wednesday, October 21st, for a combined Los Angeles Metro and Santa Monica District CCA meeting/presentation. The event, which featured chiropractic attorney Shawn Steel, was held at the world famous International Sport Science Institute, a facility owned by long time chiropractor, Dr. Leroy Perry.
