Common Doctor of Chiropractic Prerequisites

What courses do I have to take in order to be accepted into the chiropractor program? Can I get my pre-chiropractic education at my local community college? I’ve already taken biology, organic chemistry, two social science courses and a psychology class, what else is required to get into chiropractic school? I already have a Masters degree in exercise physiology, can I start chiropractic training right away, or will I require other coursework? These are the types of questions I receive from patients, student e-mails, and other people I meet thinking about a career in chiropractic.

Considering Going to Chiropractic College

I am considering going to chiropractic college, however, because of my financial situation I want to research into all the requirements needed in order to graduate successfully and begin a career. Right now I am taking college courses at a community college part-time and working part-time (I am paying for school). I know that I would have to get a school loan to go to chiropractic college, but I thought I should ask you how you paid for it all with no savings, because I am pretty much in the same boat. I have a few grand in the bank, but I’m planning on getting married soon (1-2 yrs) and will have to pay for that as well! Any advice on how to make it financially would be fantastic.

December 2009 Chiropractor Career Report

December 2009 is on its way out and January 2010 is quickly approaching. While chiropractors throughout the world will take time off during the holidays, adjusting Santa Claus and family, the topic of chiropractor careers and chiropractic employment will be back in the forefront when the new year kicks in. Scanning chiropractic classifieds posted during the past week, I expected to see several related to associate positions and vacation coverage, but I didn’t realize there were so many work opportunities available for licensed doctors of chiropractic. In a single screenshot from a chiropractors classified advertising RSS feed, I noticed several offices that were hiring, along with a couple of individuals posting their availability to work as associates.
