Life Chiropractic College West Welcomes New President

Dr. Brian Kelly became the second only president of Life Chiropractic College West on February 1, 2011. Kelly, a native of New Zealand, was an undergraduate student at Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand and completed his professional education and training in chiropractic at the Phillip Institute of Technology (PIT) now the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Melbourne, Australia. He is presently completing a Masters in Business Administration at Waikato University, Hamilton, New Zealand.

Dr. Brian Kelly became the second only president of Life Chiropractic College West on February 1, 2011. Brian Kelly Life West ChiropracticDr. Kelly enjoyed a successful and vibrant chiropractic practice in Melbourne, Australia for over a decade before serving as president of the New Zealand College of Chiropractic over the past 8 years. During that time Dr. Kelly guided the New Zealand College through recognition by the Council on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education – Australasia. During his tenure as president, he was responsible for dramatically increasing the enrollment at the College and relocating to a new campus.

Dr. Kelly stated, “This is an exciting time at Life West. The San Francisco Bay Area is alive and vibrant, and we have a great team here to develop and inspire chiropractors grounded in the art, science and philosophy of chiropractic. These are the healers of the future.”

Dr Kelly succeeds Dr Gerry Clum, who retired earlier this year after 30 years as College president.

Dr. Kelly states, “It is a privilege and an honor to carry the torch from Dr. Clum. Everyone is eager to be a part of the transformation which will be occurring over the next few years. Building upon the solid foundation that Dr. Clum set over the course of his tenure, I along with everyone here is committed to taking Life West to the next level. Watch us!”

Life West, established in 1976, is an accredited non-profit institution of higher learning. Currently over 400 students from across the United States and abroad are enrolled, and over 4,000 graduates of Life West are now providing chiropractic care worldwide. The college’s Health Center, a public outpatient facility staffed by approximately 150 senior interns who are guided by licensed doctors of chiropractic, provides affordable health care to more than 1,500 patients per week in the city of Hayward, California.
