Tour de France 2000 and Chiropractic

Like so many websites, the greatoutdoors.com is publishing daily content following the Tour de France.

Visiting the website, we find updated data from “life on the road” by Tyler Hamilton.

According to Tyler, “Life on the road is fairly regimented. And even though there is hardly ever a variation in our routine, our daily schedule is distributed by our director every evening at dinner.”

Part of that regimen includes daily chiropractic care. Specific chiropractic care can make a world of difference for an athletic endeavor such as the Tour de France. Lance Armstrong, two time Tour de France winner, has stated that he could not have won the Tour de France without the assistance of his chiropractor.

The teams chiropractor is Dr. Jeff Spencer. According to Jeff, when it comes to chiropractic care, “we only do what’s necessary.” Jeff states that the athletes care involves a lot of functional testing.

What does Jeff look for when checking the athletes? According to Jeff, “I look for signs of muscles not firing properly or signs of muscle compensation.” Jeff then makes the appropriate corrections which include spinal adjustments.

These athletes are checked on a regular schedule so that they may function at their peak levels of performance. How is your performance and how often are you checked?
