If you are a regular reader of news from the World Chiropractic Alliance you have probably already read about “H.R. 2560” which is intended as an amendment to the Social Security Act to clarify the scope of chiropractic services in the United States.
According to a newly formed coalition, chiropractic is in danger of being taken over by a group of medically oriented chiropractors and organizations who are trying to change the very nature of the profession, and in the process minimizing the profession’s unique role in health care and possibly placing the public at risk.
Many, once thought effective, surgical and therapeutic drug approaches to some of the worlds most common conditions are not producing the intended results. To put it bluntly, people are dying by the hundreds of thousands each year and we have little to show for it other than yearly increasing health care costs and an insane idea of applying the same failed approach to solve the escalating problems we face.
While public television has been responsible for many great programs, a recent episode of “Scientific American Frontiers” has many chiropractors wondering if it’s begun groveling to the medical conglomerates that frequently fund its shows.
