It’s You Doctor, It Always Was

After a long Monday at the office, (I start around 5:00 am) I am in my car for the one and a half hour drive down to Orange County to get connected with some of my fellow DCs. (I’ll do it again tonight, for OCCP)

Three Masters and a Cookie Too
Larry Markson, D.C.

This night, a special event was occurring as Drs. Larry Markson, Patrick Gentempo, and Bob Hoffman were all to speak. They are in California to introduce “The Master’s Circle,” a program in which they are each involved.

While I had never been out to see Dr. Markson speak before, I have listened to both Drs. Patrick and Bob more times than I can remember. While on the surface this was an event to introduce us to the Master’s Circle program, there was to be a deeper bonus message.

One message; these people care about chiropractic.

Larry Markson, CEO of the now Masters Circle, has 30 plus years experience with coaching other chiropractors. He does not financially need to be in Southern California on a Monday night, talking to chiropractors about growing their chiropractic practice. (more chiropractors could use him though)

Patrick Gentempo Jr., D.C.

Patrick Gentempo Jr., CEO of the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance. Ditto goes for Patrick who probably spends more time at night in airplanes, traveling across the globe, then he does in his own bed.

And then there’s Bob Hoffman, President of the International Chiropractors Association, and now president of The Master’s Circle. You’d think he would have his hands full with just the ICA. ( I remember once hearing him say that if you want to get something done, ask someone who is busy.)

You could argue that this was just another “free” talk put on by yet another coaching program in order to get more chiropractors to use chiropractic coaching services. You could say that and in a way you would be correct. But then what’s wrong with a chiropractor having a coach? Something I here over and over from some of the best coaches in our field is that “you’re better off with someone, than with no one.” Maybe, it is three individuals who want to see this profession move forward and are willing to work together, setting aside their differences, in order to see that happen.

And in there lies a message of leadership and unity. If your not paying attention to the undercurrent in chiropractic, you may think that folks like Bob Hoffman and Patrick Gentempo Jr. are involved in opposite camps of opposing thought, and therefore do not team collaborate.

Equally so, both Bob and Patrick come from many years of DE whereas Larry comes from Parker. All three attended different chiropractic colleges.

To me it appears, that the leaders in chiropractic get along rather well, much more so than some may recognize. These individuals are just one example, but there are dozens of such cases.
Bob Hoffman, D.C.

The keyword here is “individuals.” We are intelligent, hard working, and creative individuals who recognize that we are a part of a profession of equally intelligent, hard working, and creative individuals. In order to move forward, we must come to recognize that.

All three chiropractors had a strong chiropractic message, but this statement sums it up:

“Who you are determines your success.” – Bob Hoffman, D.C.

It’s you doctor. It’s you who determines your success in life and in practice. It’s you who determines at what level of this game your willing to play in. It’s you and how you choose (or not) to work with others that will determine the future of this profession. It’s you. It’s you. It’s you. It always was. It always will be.
