Get sick – or get a clue
Just yesterday we reported on ADHD in the news and commented on an article titled: “Strep Infection Possibly Linked to Attention-Deficit Disorder”
I commented that, “On one side, one may suggest increased use of antibiotics or maybe even a vaccine to hopefully prevent the strep infections or maybe a combination of vaccines, antibiotics and ritalin and whatever other drugs would be needed to treat the side effects of those initially prescribed. On the other, one may want an immune system that functions optimally thus decreasing the risk of developing an infection in the first place and allowing the body to do what it does best.”

Ear Infections Linked to Impaired Speech
“Infants who have persistent middle ear infections may be more likely to experience a small impairment in verbal skills by the age of 3, results of a recent study suggest.” And it’s important to point out, “Because middle ear infections can affect hearing if the problem is persistent, children may have draining tubes surgically implanted into the eardrum to correct the problem.” Fox News: Ear Infections
So here is the scenario. Your watching the news on Monday and you hear something about strep something or other and ADHD. It was a quick blurb but whatever it is, you don’t want your kids getting it.
Tuesday comes and you hear that chicken pox can lead to “deadly” strep infections. “Oh my god” you say, “I’ve heard about that strep stuff somewhere and it’s bad news.” But a chicken pox vaccine? Is it effective? Oh yeah they say, “up to 15%” maybe, and “all children should receive it.”
So do you get the vaccines, get the antibiotics, get the tubes, and get the ritalin?
How about this: Get a clue.
