Are You Afraid To Be Bored?

Have you given yourself a chance to be a little bored lately. We just had our first snow storm in my area this year. Had a chance to be snowed in a little. Kind of like to be snowed in once or twice a year. Get a lot of stuff done around the house. I get that caught up feeling. It is a good feeling but it doesn’t take long before I start looking for something else to do.

The kids get bored even quicker and they aren’t shy about telling you their plight, “I’M BORED.” They tell you about it like they got a condition that they expect you to fix.

To someone as busy as myself it is actually very, very refreshing but then what? Then what? Maybe that is what. Maybe what comes to me in the quiet is it. Maybe the busy-ness masked what is. In that nothingness comes the inspiration. In the quietness comes the thought flashes. In the silence comes creation. Sometimes I am not ready to see the light so I busy myself so that I don’t have to feel. When I quiet and tune in to my “gut” I became aware of the light within.

I’ve got to allow myself the time to be “bored.” I must not fear centering myself. If I am going to experience the greatness I can in my life and be of most service to God, I have to permit myself that quiet time.
