Trump Administration’s Dramatic Shift in Health Care

Planet Chiropractic is tracking significant actions of President Trump’s first 100 days of his second term. The following presidential action should delight all doctors of chiropractic in the United States.

Ending Over Reliance on Drugs and Surgery

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and laws of the United States of America, including Section 2967 of Title 7 United States Code, it is hereby ordered.

Section 1. Purpose: Drug manufacturers have marketed their services with overwhelming messaging to influence the general public into believing they need medication to be and stay healthy. Although pharmaceuticals have their place, America’s over reliance on these products has led to an alarming over use of drugs with disastrous consequences. Nearly 70% of adults are on one prescription medication and more than half take two. Because of our overdependence on over the counter and prescription medicines, long term health problems including liver, kidney, and heart problems as well as cancer and mental problems are reaching a critical point, with a marked increase of morbidity and mortality. It’s estimated to cost the nation more than $820 billion each year and rising.

Failing drug intervention, citizens submit to surgeries which are also over utilized. According to medical experts; Unnecessary surgeries account for 30% of all operations. According to the Institute of Medicine, unneeded medical procedures cost another $750 billion every year. This profit driven medical network undermines our health and erodes the economy. Accordingly, my administration will implement new policies to go the most natural way first, utilize drugs second, and surgery last.

Section 2. Implementation: As of April 1st, 2025 the Federal trade Commission (FTC) will prohibit pharmaceutical advertising. This order includes over the counter and prescription medicines as well as vaccines. This restriction applies to all types of media including television, radio, streaming services, the internet and print.

Part of the $15.96 billion saved by not advertising will go to drug rehabilitation programs and compensating drug and vaccine reaction victims and their families.

Section 3 Policy: There are only 70,524 chiropractors practicing in the United States today, who are well trained and regulated, to provide a conservative remedy for our over reliance on drugs and surgery. As of April 1st, 2025 every doctor of chiropractic practicing within the U.S. will receive grants of up to one million dollars to provide wellness adjustments to as many citizens as possible. This amounts to $70.52 billion, (less than 10% of our current expenditures). Scientists and doctors know that chiropractic patients tend to stay healthy over a lifetime, while avoiding dangerous drugs and surgery. They are apt to stay out of nursing homes, saving another estimated $191.3 billion annually.

Not every chiropractor will be able to provide a million dollars’ worth of adjustments every year. They can use the extra funds to increase the number of doctors of chiropractic, develop education outreach programs, staff facilities, run clinics, administer schools and universities, and participate in research to develop more advanced systems to raise our health care indices.

Section 4. Recognition of Pioneers of Chiropractic: As president I will posthumously award doctors Daniel David and Bartlett Joshua Palmer (the discoverer and developer of chiropractic) with Presidential Medals of Freedom to begin this new program and honor the work they did to provide a more enlightened approach to health. These awards are always made for especially meritorious contributions. As an additional level of veneration for these founding doctors and for the many lives saved and enhanced by this healing art, these particular medals are being given “with distinction”.

In recognition of Dr. Palmer’s discovery, the official ceremony will be made on September 18th, 2025 at the White House. This is the same date he provided the first chiropractic “adjustment” restoring the hearing of Harvey Lillard, a black janitor who had been deaf for 17 years. Since that first adjustment, doctors of chiropractic have helped millions and millions of Americans. More than 280 million life giving visits are given by chiropractors yearly. With this additional funding, all Americans can reach their full potential.

Section 5. Reconstruction of Health Care in America: A long standing and undeclared “war” exists between doctors of chiropractic and medical professionals. The land mark 1987 decision, Wilk v. Ama found medicine guilty of the most vicious persecution, prosecution, and suppression of chiropractic science. Still today, doctors of chiropractic have not been fully engaged to raise the country’s level of health. I am declaring an end to the medical bigotry of the past. It is now federal law that hospitals, research facilities, universities, nursing schools, and all allied health institutions have an appropriate quorum of doctors of chiropractic on all boards and governing bodies. This will facilitate a more enlightened approach for our nation’s health.
