Dr. Brian McAulay, president of Parker University, was recently elected as president of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC) by its board of directors. Dr. McAulay will serve a two-year term as president of ACC, succeeding Dr. Richard Brassard, president of Texas Chiropractic College.
I have polled Chiropractors on how often they like to get adjusted. Ninety five percent of all Chiropractors would like to get adjusted at least once a week for the rest of their lives. However the same poll would reveal that only 5 percent have ever recommended once a week for lifetime to any of their patients. This is a double standard of care that has been going on for decades.
I have been receiving lots of questions from people searching for information regarding various chiropractic schools, mostly those in the United States. In an effort to better answer some of these questions I began doing some research of my own. What I discovered was that while there is a web site for every chiropractic College of the United States, most of the information I found was similar to reading a brochure.
The League of Chiropractic Women will be hosting a conference in New York City on September 27 and 28th. The event is taking place at the New Yorker Hotel located on 8th Avenue & 34th Street. The conference includes several female chiropractic superstars and it is sure to be pure and powerful. In a ground-breaking study, medical and chiropractic researchers are joining efforts to study the effects of a form of non-surgical treatment for neck pain, more specifically Cox distraction manipulation. This study is one of three projects that are part of a four-year, $2.8 million grant awarded in 2008 to the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research (PCCR), headquartered on the Palmer College of Chiropractic campus in Davenport, Iowa.
A report featured on MSNBC.com and ABC News.com suggests that common non steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers may be linked to an increased risk of miscarriage. According to the articles, researchers found that women taking non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) suffered more miscarriages than women who had not taken these drugs.
