Our clinical manager will be responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the patient clinic. Working with the
physicians, the clinical manager will plan, organize, and implement operational improvements for the medical staff.
This position will oversee the back office, including the coordination of personnel between our main location and four
satellite offices. The position will also manage the employee schedules and training for clinical staff.

Education and Experience:
1. A minimum of 5-years in a healthcare supervisory or management position. Ophthalmology experience
preferred but not required.
2. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would provide the knowledge, skills, and
abilities necessary for the successful performance of the essential job duties. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3. Managerial experience including proven success in building and leading a high performing, clinical team.
4. A working knowledge of computer hardware and software. Experience with a fully-integrated medical office
software package, including electronic medical records, is preferred.
5. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with physicians and office personnel.
6. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures and the capability to implement new protocols and regulations.
7. Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Practice Operations
1. Directs and manages day-to-day clinic operations, including staff schedules and patient flow.
2. Maintains a working knowledge of ophthalmology ICD-10,CPT coding, Medicare and other third-party policies
and procedures.
3. Maintains a strong focus on improving operational efficiency, organizational communication, and profitability of
the organization.
4. Develops office protocols that assist with optimized clinical flow and efficiency.
5. Develops and maintains quality assurance guidelines, to ensure compliance with Medicare and third-party
payers.
6. Maintains clinical equipment and helps troubleshoot issues.
7. Manages practice inventory control for retina drugs and medical supplies.
8. Works with physicians and clinical team to make ongoing improvements to the EMR system.
9. Coordinates ongoing clinical education for back office staff.
10. Works in close collaboration with physicians to foster a positive, patient-centered, team-based work
environment.
11. Monitors patient satisfaction/feedback for all clinic locations to identify and act upon opportunities for improved
service.
12. Actively supports physicians and staff initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
13. Stays current with changing governmental regulations and ensures compliance.
