ELLIS MICRO-DYNAMETER used in Chiropractic 1935-1962, excell

This is an amazing artifact of chiropractic history. It is a high quality and beautifully engineered piece of equipment complete with attachments and travel case. History In 1923 engineer Francis C. Ellis designed an invention that would temporarily change the face of chiropractic. After being unveiled in 1935 at a Pittsburgh science exhibit, the Ellis Micro-Dynameter’s (MDM) popularity exploded. The new found machine had the ability to tender a diagnosis and formulate a prognosis for patients in minutes. The MDM, with these unique abilities, was invaluable to chiropractors because they could see actual results to the treatment given, and this was something that could never be done before.

This is the last and most quot modernquot of the Micro-Dynameters produced, c. 1960-62. Ellis’ claims could not be substantiated and the unit was banned in 1962. It appears in excellent condition. I do not know if it is functional but seems to be complete. I have been told that this instrument uses a platinum wire or electrode which in today’s market is worth quite a bit (more than I am asking). I do not want to cannibalize this beautiful piece of chiropractic history so I did not remove anything. I also have two early models of the Micro-Dynameter in wooden cases, however they are not complete. I will offer them to the buyer for fifty dollars each through an ebay listing. NOTE This item is for display only. $199
