The seminar’s opening session recognized legends in chiropractic, including Drs. Jim Parker, MT Morter Jr., and Russ Erhardt. Several leaders in chiropractic also shared their experiences working with Dr. Parker in the early years of Parker Seminars.

“To have all these legends of chiropractic – Larry Markson, Chuck Gibson, Charlie Ward, and Kerby Landis — here on the same stage represents a real moment in time,” said Dr. Brian McAulay, president of Parker University and Parker Seminars.

Each year, Parker Seminars awards a DC and CA who has made significant impacts to the chiropractic profession and the lives of their patients. Dr. Jenny Mejia was honored with the DC of the Year Award and Kelli Moore received the CA of the Year Award.

In addition, Parker Seminars presented the 2014 Parker Seminar Life-Time Achievement Award to Dr. David Singer. Over the past 33 years, Dr. Singer has traveled more than five million miles teaching at more than 17,000 chiropractic seminars. Through the upper cervical technique taught through one of his companies, he has assisted in opening more than 200 upper cervical clinics worldwide. He was a major contributor to the antitrust lawsuit against the AMA and has been on the Board of Advisors to the Chiropractic Legal Action Fund. Dr. Singer also proudly serves as a member of the Chiropractic Summit, an organization devoted to the protection and expansion of the profession.

A standout session, Dr. McAulay led a panel discussion about the Affordable Care Act and its benefits to the chiropractic profession. The panel included Dr. Regina Benjamin, former U.S. Surgeon General; John Falardeau, American Chiropractic Association’s (ACA) vice president for government relations; Dr. Anthony Hamm, ACA vice president, Dr. Michael McLean, president of the International Chiropractors Association, and Dr. Gerry Clum, special liaison to the president of Life University.

“Health is a part of everything we do-work, school, family, faith; and it all starts with prevention,” said Dr. Benjamin. “It’s clear we need a more holistic and integrated approach to health care in America.”

Attendees also enjoyed the largest chiropractic expo in the industry where more than 200 exhibitors displayed the profession’s most cutting-edge products and technologies.

The seminar also offered social events such as the CA Breakfast and Superstar Academy Recognition Ceremony, the World Congress of Women Chiropractors (WCWC) Luncheon, and the Parker Power Coaching Session.

In addition, actor Danny Glover, a long-time chiropractic patient and supporter, made an appearance at the seminar where he signed autographs for attendees.
