The place to be this August is Oakland California for The Wave and the inauguration of Dr. Brian D. Kelly as the second president of Life Chiropractic College West. The Wave is Life Chiropractic College West’s homecoming event to be held at the Oakland Marriott City Center, Oakland, California, USA on Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6, 2011.
If you’re not busy surfing, hiking, running, and enjoying the beach all summer long, why not plan a trip to San Francisco California for a continuing education event being put on by Life Chiropractic College West? It’s a two day event taking place on August 5th and 6th and it looks like a spectacular lineup of speakers. Life West is located in Hayward, California but the event is taking place Oakland, California (so leave your San Diego Chargers hats at home).
Glad I decided to pack my heavy Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens along with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi camera when I went to New Jersey for New Beginnings this past weekend. As I typically do at chiropractic conferences (and even search engine optimization conferences) I took lots of photos. I have found over the past 15 years, that if I don’t upload those photos soon after they’re taken, they disappear somewhere into the abyss of my hard drives and backup media.
A new study has found that drugs used to treat attention deficit disorders may put kids at risk for of sudden death. The study, in the American Journal of Psychiatry, found an association between stimulant medications (like Ritalin) used to treat ADHD may cause sudden death in healthy children. In the past, there have been published reports indicating warning signs of danger. Last year, even the American Heart Association suggested the initiation of routine heart screening tests prior to starting children with ADHD on stimulant drugs and called for future studies to assess the risk of sudden death. The manufacturers of the drugs are still denying an association, with some refusing to comment to media inquiry.
