The Las Vegas Hotel (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton) welcomed several thousand chiropractors today, for the first day of Parker Seminars Las Vegas 2012. There was enthusiasm in the air as chiropractors (along with staff, students, and families) from around the globe entered the hotel convention area.
Many chiropractors live a life of solitary practice, making events like Parker Seminars essential for reminding us that a chiropractic lifestyle goes beyond our individual routine of daily practice and service to our communities. At Parker, we are reminded that the advancement of chiropractic is a team effort. Fellowship with others is one of the many benefits of attending this event, and I was reminded of that personally, moments after entering the building.
While it’s great to see other chiropractors in real life, something I thought it was very cool about this weeks Parker Seminar was an LCD television display in the lobby showing hashtagged tweets from the event, something one may not expect to see (but can expect to see more often) at a professional chiropractic conference.
There were far too many vendor booths to visit in a single day, so I’ll be checking out the latest products and services available to those practicing chiropractic, and likely reporting on them here. Parker Seminars also provides chiropractors a great opportunity to meet with representatives of companies they purchase from, like Meyer Distributing (I purchased some cases of face paper today) and the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance.
