Health minded individuals living in San Diego, California are requesting your help in turning out hundreds of fluoridation opponents at a San Diego City Council meeting which will be held on June 10th at 2pm. Even if you don't live in the San Diego area, you may know someone who does who may wish to attend this meeting. This is too important for anyone who is against fluoridation to ignore.

San Diego Government City Council DistrictsThe Fluoridation Hearing before the San Diego City Council is expected to be held on Tuesday, June 10th during the 2 p.m. session. Concerned residents of San Diego will have an opportunity to fill out a speaker’s slip before the 2 p.m. presentation so that they can state their opposition presentation to the city Council. Residents will be given about one to two minutes to share their thoughts on pumping fluoride into San Diego water supplies.

According to Anita Shattuck, the practice of fluoridation is the fraud of the century. She provides a detailed and well referenced article relating to the lack of scientific evidence showing any benefit of water fluoridation practices. Another valuable resource includes the Fluoride Action Network, an international coalition created to broaden public awareness about the toxicity of fluoride compounds and the health impacts of current fluoride exposures.

Resources from Planet Chiropractic include:
Fluoridation Folly — Gilbert City Council proposes to dump in fluorosilicates, a waste by-product of the fertilizer industry. Fluoride apologists – led by dentists and 1 stray city council member – consistently fail to mention this toxic little fact.

Fluoridation Flows and Flaws — Many people need to avoid fluoride altogether to preserve their health, we know this because scientists in government agencies have documented it thoroughly. Babies up to one year old, pregnant moms, the elderly, and anyone with kidney problems, thyroid problems, liver problems, diabetes mellitus or cardiovascular problems all need to be as fluoride free as possible.

Fluoride in the Fountain — California’s law stipulates that all municipal water shall soon contain a form of fluoride, a tasteless and colorless “co-product” of the phosphate fertilizer industry, mostly hydrofluosilicic acid and a couple of its chemical cousins.

Fluoride Fanatics Beginning to Appear More Mainstream — According to the news, recent research is suggesting that fluoride may be connected to a number of serious conditions, which includes the development of a rare bone cancer (osteosarcoma) in teenage boys, reduced levels of intelligence in children, and the impairment of thyroid function.

Residents of San Diego can contact Mayor Jerry Sanders and all members of the San Diego City Council to notify them of the potential risks involved when adding chemicals to municipal water supplies.

City Council meetings are held Monday and Tuesday of every week except during scheduled Legislative Recesses. The meetings can be watched on CityTV – Channel 24 on Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable within the San Diego City limits or via live webcast. Council President Scott Peters (District 1) and contact information for representatives of all other districts is available here. With all the EPA related news regarding pharmaceuticals being found in the drinking water of at least 41 million Americans, and so many individuals, businesses, and corporations moving in the direction of being more environmentally conscious, it is surprising to me that there are those continuing to seek profit over common sense.
