The 5K run starts at 5:00 p.m., just before sunset, and takes in the beautiful campus of Life University during our annual holiday light show. After the run, stay and enjoy the holiday festivities, with caroling, s’mores and hot cocoa, a holiday spirit contest, food and music, and much more, including the Lights of LIFE.
Life University (LIFE) continues to carry the torch for functional neurology and exploring the relationship between the spine, the nervous system and healthy body function. LIFE University established the Functional Neurology Center (FNC) more than nineteen months ago to conduct research and offer chiropractic functional neurology clinical services to the public. With major figures in professional sports, entertainment and from other walks of life visibly benefiting from this natural approach to health and healing. Life University will vigorously work to continue to develop its Functional Neurology Center with several new initiatives announced by University President Dr. Guy Riekeman this morning.
In March, the Institute of Alternative Futures (IAF) released its third in a series of futures reports titled Chiropractic 2025: Divergent Futures. The reports forecast potential scenarios in the chiropractic profession in the year 2025. As a part of their findings, the IAF recognized that if the profession of Chiropractic is to thrive by 2025, LIFE will be a chief contributor to the cause through their research, conferences, alumni programs and overall stance for the principles of Chiropractic.
The Octagon, a think-tank and policy oriented center at Life University, Marietta, Georgia will host its fourth annual conference entitled “Reimagining Health Care: Making Health the Goal” April 12-14, 2012. This year’s conference will focus on health care reform and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) according to the Director of the Octagon, Gerard W. Clum, D.C.
Life University (LIFE) continues to carry the torch for the profession, announcing a nationwide, nine-city tour designed to help the profession help itself. LIFE in Your City is a three day event in each city, and provides elements that will help DCs earn continuing education, allow their patients to hear the chiropractic message from Life University president Dr. Guy Riekeman, and take part in attracting the next generation of chiropractors.
Life University is adding varsity wrestling to its expanding athletics program. The inaugural season will begin with the 2012-2013 season. Life University is only the third college in Georgia to offer varsity wrestling, and will be the first in the metro-Atlanta area. Team Georgia Wrestling is helping Life University get the program started with a generous donation.
Life University (LIFE) rugby player and coach Paul Emerick has been signed to the London Wasps, one of 12 English rugby unions making up the elite Aviva Premiership – the highest league of play in the English rugby system.
Life University’s (LIFE’s) new campus dining facility, the Socrates Cafe, was recently awarded Gold-Level LEED Certification, making it the second certified green building on LIFE’s campus (the LIFE Village Retreat, the first LEED Gold-Level certified, stick-built student housing in the country, opened in 2009).
The Life University Running Eagles rugby team beat Boston 27-23 on Saturday to clinch a berth in the Rugby Super League National Championship game on May 21st. Life University will host the championship game on its campus in Marietta versus San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club (SFGG), the 2009 national champions.
Life University announces the official launch of the first ever whole wellness app rooted in chiropractic philosophy – myLIFEplus. The free, multifunctional app is equipped with a wide range of features that promote a vitalistic view of optimal wellness and the role of chiropractic care in achieving it.
