It has come to my attention that yet another small group of individuals in our profession is hard at work spreading misinformation amongst their colleagues, this time in regards to CCGPP’s formulation of acute and chronic care guidelines and treatment algorithms. Since these previously published guidelines were developed for the sole reason of successfully helping the profession and its individual doctors, I would like to explain how these guidelines and subsequent algorithms came about.

Evidence Based Chiropractic Management of Low Back Disorders

The Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters (CCGPP) is pleased to announce that “Chiropractic Management of Low Back Disorders – Evidence Based Documentation” is now available online through Northwestern Health Sciences University. The course costs $30 and is approved for one hour of continuing education.

Historic 2009 COCSA Chiropractic Convention

Happy Anniversary COCSA! was the historical celebration that rang out in St. Pete Beach Florida November 12-14th at the Trade Winds Hotel. The meeting celebrated COCSA and their 40 years of service to the State Associations and the Chiropractic Profession. Executive Directors from 48 state associations, National key opinion leaders, and Doctors of Chiropractic from throughout the states came together for top-notch educational presentations, dynamic speakers, organizational business, political and legislative updates, networking opportunities, increased camaraderie and fun.

CCGPP on the Proper Use of Guidelines

Recently we were contacted about the appropriateness of individual states endorsing one guideline document over another. While we have no control over how any state association, governmental agency or payor uses or endorses guidelines, we would ask that each executive director and each individual doctor consider the proper use of guidelines and how these important documents potentially impact our profession, both from within and without Chiropractic.

COCSA Bridging The River To Success

Report of the Annual Meeting of the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations – State chiropractic leaders gathered in San Antonio TX November 6-8, 2008 for the annual meeting of the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations. Set to the theme “Bridging the River for Success,” over 137 delegates from 44 state chiropractic associations participated in round table discussions and workshops aimed at improving their operations and overall effectiveness in serving their members and advancing the chiropractic profession.
